The short answer
An award winning, London based Muslim wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing nikah and walima celebrations in Reigate and right across Surrey. We arrive early, meet both families, and learn how your day is set to run, so by the time the baraat reaches the door we already know where to stand and what is coming next. The mehndi, the nikah, the baraat and the walima are all covered with care in Reigate, and we can bring a female photographer so the ladies side is fully and sensitively photographed. Twenty-five years has taught us restraint as much as skill; we know when to lower the camera during the dua and when to step in for the joy that follows it. A female photographer for the ladies side, a second photographer for larger events and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Surrey for your wedding.
Serving Reigate
Reigate is a historic Surrey town below the North Downs. Marquees, banqueting halls, hotels and mosques across Surrey each have their own light and their own challenges, and years in the venues of Redhill, Dorking and Banstead have taught us to read them quickly. A female photographer can cover the ladies' side of the nikah, so the women's moments are not lost.
Across a multi-day celebration we hold a consistent look from the first dholki to the last of the walima, so the finished album reads as one story and not a series of separate events. We document each event as it happens, from the mehndi to the walima, so your gallery feels true to the day you lived. When your events are segregated, a female photographer covers the ladies' side, so the mehndi, the dholki and the bridal preparations are photographed properly and comfortably by someone the women are at ease with.
We have photographed Muslim weddings in Reigate for many years and always look forward to returning. Reigate is a historic Surrey town below the North Downs, and we are often in Guildford and Woking nearby. Around Reigate we regularly photograph at Reigate Manor and Kingswood Manor, among others.
Reigate is a historic town at the foot of the North Downs in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey. Reigate railway station on the North Downs Line, with connections via Redhill to London. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Priory Park, home to the 13th century Reigate Priory with formal gardens and a lake, and Reigate Castle grounds, a public park on the site of a former Norman castle gives the day a strong sense of Reigate.

What we offer
We photograph the groom's baraat arriving with his family, keeping all of its noise, colour and joy.
Beautifully bound albums and fine prints designed around your favourite nikah and walima images.

Every Muslim tradition
We photograph the signing of the nikah-nama by the couple and their witnesses with quiet attention. From the ijab-e-qubool to the dua, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely. When the nikah-nama is brought forward and the couple and their witnesses put pen to paper, we photograph the signing closely but quietly, mindful that this is both a legal and a sacred act.
The music and dancing of the mehndi are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy. From the first event to the last, we tell the full story of the celebration. Bridal preparations have a quiet energy of their own, the jewellery, the dupatta, the last check in the mirror, and we cover these hours with an unobtrusive eye.

The whole celebration
For a segregated mehndi on the ladies' side, a female photographer keeps every moment of the henna and dancing beautifully covered. The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration.
For the busiest days, a second photographer covers two moments at once, and a female photographer the ladies' side. On the wedding day, the nikah, the signing of the contract and the mahr build to the rukhsati and the walima.
Why choose us
We understand how much the nikah means, and we photograph the mahr and the dua with the care they deserve. Our long experience means a calm presence at the mosque whatever the day brings.
No corner of Surrey is too far for us, and the towns of Redhill, Dorking and Banstead are ones we drive to often for the nikah and the walima. We cover the Home Counties and beyond for the mehndi, the nikah and the walima, and travel further afield on request.

Where we travel
We arrive in good time whatever the traffic, allowing for the journey across Surrey and the prayer times along the way, so the signing of the nikah-nama is never missed. We are used to celebrations spread from the mosque to the banqueting hall, and keep the day flowing between them.

Good to know
For a fully segregated day we usually recommend at least two photographers so both the men's and women's sides are covered at once. You can add a second photographer, or a female photographer specifically for the ladies, to any package. We will talk through your venue layout and guest split and suggest the right number so nothing important is missed.
Not at all. We regularly photograph weddings in Surrey where relatives have flown in from overseas, and we simply factor extended family portraits into the timeline so far-flung guests are included before they head home. Tell us who has travelled and who is most important to photograph, and we will make sure those groupings happen without eating into your celebration.
We do. Pakistani and Bengali weddings are a regular part of our work in Reigate, alongside Indian, Arab, Turkish and Somali Muslim celebrations. We know how the customs vary, the events that surround the nikah, and the way each family's day is ordered.
Yes. Even at a mixed walima, some couples like the extra coverage a pairing gives, with one photographer on the stage and candid moments and the other free to work the room. If parts of your evening become more separated for prayer or for family preference, having both a male and female photographer on hand keeps every area covered.
Yes. We keep couple portraits tasteful and within your comfort, guiding posture and placement rather than asking for anything that would feel wrong for you. If you would rather not have close or intimate poses at all, that is completely fine, and we will focus on natural, dignified images of the two of you that your families will be proud to display.
Yes. We can arrange a female photographer for the women's area and the bridal preparations, while a male photographer covers the men's side and the wider event. This lets both spaces be photographed properly on a segregated day without any male presence where your female guests expect privacy. We confirm the pairing well in advance so everyone knows who will be where.
Yes. During the nikah we work quietly from the edges, using longer lenses so the signing, the ijab and qabul, and the reading of the khutbah are recorded without us stepping into the space. We have documented over a thousand weddings and understand that this is a sacred contract, not a photo opportunity, so our presence stays calm and unobtrusive throughout.
