From the mehndi to the morning of the nikah

Short ceremonies forgive nothing, and the nikah is short. No signature gets a second pass, nor does the word answering an imam. We treat it like the start of a sprint: every decision taken beforehand, both of us standing where we mean to stand before anybody sits, no movement once it runs. During recitation the cameras are lowered, which is not a courtesy anyone need argue us into.

Mehndi asks for the opposite. It means hours of work in poor light, with hands and faces near the glass and nobody minding. Move it up the budget if you are choosing where to spend. A baraat wants open ground and a straight run for the walk to build, so establish where vehicles are able to stop and what length of the approach must be covered on foot. For the rukhsati a long lens treats people more kindly than a short one, and we keep our distance.
