We often take couples to Claremont Landscape Garden, a National Trust garden with a turf amphitheatre and serpentine lake just outside Esher for a few quiet portraits, and Sandown Park Racecourse, a well known horse racing venue in Esher is a lovely backdrop nearby.

We work quietly around the imam so the nikah is never disturbed. The rukhsati, when the bride leaves with the groom, is the most tender moment, and we photograph it gently. From the ijab-e-qubool to the dua, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely.

The henna of the mehndi is intricate and detailed, and we photograph both the design and the laughter around it. Where the celebrations are segregated, we cover the men's and ladies' sides with equal care. The mangni, the engagement that begins the journey, is one we are glad to cover when families ask.
