The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed Asian weddings across Surrey for over twenty five years, and couples in Reigate choose him for calm, knowledgeable coverage of every tradition, backed by five European Gold awards. We keep the calm of the ceremony and the energy of the reception in equal measure. From the mehndi and sangeet to the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, we photograph every part of an Asian wedding in and around Reigate with knowledge and care. We have worked in temples, gurdwaras and mosques the length of the country, and that range means your venue and its customs hold no surprises for us. You can add a second photographer, a female photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Surrey and beyond, so wherever your celebration is held it is within reach.
Serving Reigate
Reigate is a historic Surrey town below the North Downs. Whether your ceremony is in a temple, a gurdwara or a hotel ballroom, we are comfortable photographing right across Redhill, Dorking and Banstead and beyond. We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position.
We follow your family's customs closely and photograph them exactly as you keep them. We bring a long lens and a light touch, so the most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance. For the vidaai we hold back and let the emotion be what it is, photographing the goodbyes gently rather than crowding a moment that belongs to the family.
From the mehndi to the reception we keep the day flowing across Surrey, and Reigate is a historic Surrey town below the North Downs, firmly within the ground we cover. We also work in nearby Guildford and Woking. Venues we know well in and near Reigate include Reigate Manor and Kingswood Manor.
Reigate is a historic town at the foot of the North Downs in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey. Reigate railway station on the North Downs Line, with connections via Redhill to London. We often take couples to Priory Park, home to the 13th century Reigate Priory with formal gardens and a lake for a few quiet portraits, and Reigate Castle grounds, a public park on the site of a former Norman castle is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
We work respectfully inside temples and gurdwaras, reading the space and the customs so your ceremony is never interrupted.
Respectful, unobtrusive coverage in temples, gurdwaras and mosques.
Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil ceremonies, with the rituals and rhythm of each understood.
Every tradition
We work in the background of the priest, the granthi or the imam, reading their rhythm so the ceremony flows without a photographer in the way. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham reaches its heart as the thali is tied, and we are in position for that single, defining second. In the gurdwara, the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib through the four laavan, and we follow that slow procession with the reverence the moment asks for.
We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. The farewell, when the bride leaves her family, is the most tender moment of many Asian weddings.

The whole celebration
Sangeet nights belong to the aunties and uncles who have been rehearsing for weeks, and we make sure their performances are held properly, not lost in the noise of the crowd. We can join you for a single event or follow the whole journey from the very first ritual.
We keep the day flowing, moving smoothly between the ceremony, the family photos and the reception. Whether the ceremony and reception are on the same day or spread across a weekend, we plan for it.
Why choose us
Over a thousand celebrations have taught us when to step in close and when to stand quietly back. One studio, comfortable with every tradition, means you need only one experienced team for the whole celebration.
Early muhurat timings often mean an early departure, and we build that into our planning so we are set up and ready before the first guest arrives. Distance is never a problem; travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work.

Where we travel
We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us across the Home Counties. We cover the Home Counties and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield on request.

Good to know
Yes. Many Asian weddings run across several days, from the mehndi and sangeet through to the main ceremony and reception, and we are happy to cover the full sequence in Reigate. We agree the schedule with you in advance so nothing important is missed, and a second photographer joins for the busier days.
Experience is the answer. After more than a thousand weddings, we read the pace of an Asian day instinctively, moving ahead of the action rather than chasing it. A second photographer covers a different angle at busy moments, so nothing important slips past unrecorded.
We are. We understand the significance of the muhurtham timing and the tying of the thali, along with the surrounding customs that make a Tamil ceremony distinct. This familiarity means we are ready at the right moment, so the images reflect the true weight of each ritual.
Yes. Every image we deliver is edited by hand for colour, tone and consistency across the days, and we retouch our selected portraits with a light, natural touch. We aim for photographs that look timeless rather than heavily processed, so they age well in your album.
We do. We capture the dignity of the nikah, the signing of the contract and the giving of the mehr, along with the warmth of the walima. We work respectfully within your family's customs and bring additional photographers where events are held separately.
Yes. Temples, gurdwaras and mosques are all familiar to us, as are mandaps, marquees and banqueting halls in and around Reigate. We work quietly around the priest, the granthi or the imam, often using a long lens, so the ceremony is never disturbed.
Yes, and it is one of our favourite parts of the day. We capture the dhol, the dancing and the groom's arrival, and the milni as the two families meet, with all of its energy.
