For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham reaches its heart as the thali is tied, and we are in position for that single, defining second. In the gurdwara, the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib through the four laavan, and we follow that slow procession with the reverence the moment asks for.

We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. The farewell, when the bride leaves her family, is the most tender moment of many Asian weddings.
