During the most solemn passages we step back and lengthen the lens, so the granthi's words or the sacred fire are photographed from a respectful distance.

The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. The bride's farewell, as she leaves her parents' home, is the most tender passage of many Asian weddings, and we photograph it with the gentleness it deserves.
