The short answer
An award winning, London based Asian wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings in Guildford and across Surrey. Knowing the order of a Hindu ceremony means we are already in position for the pheras and the sindoor, not scrambling to catch up once they begin. From the mehndi and sangeet to the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, we photograph every part of an Asian wedding in and around Guildford with knowledge and care. More than a thousand celebrations sit behind us, and that depth means we recognise the mangalsutra moment, the fourth laav or the signing of the nikah before it arrives. A second photographer, a female photographer for segregated events and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Surrey and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Serving Guildford
Guildford is a historic Surrey town with hillside and country venues. Whether your ceremony is in a temple, a gurdwara or a hotel ballroom, we are comfortable photographing right across Woking, Godalming and Cranleigh and beyond. Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight.
For a Sikh anand karaj we keep our distance during the laavan, photographing the ragis and the family without a single interruption to the prayer. A second photographer means we can be at the mandap and with the guests at once, so the reactions in the room are held alongside the ritual at the front. Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own wedding.
Guildford is a historic Surrey town with hillside and country venues, and its temples, halls and family homes have hosted many of the weddings we have photographed. We are frequently in neighbouring Woking and Staines-upon-Thames too. Venues we have photographed at near Guildford include Ramster Hall, Guildford Manor and Barnett Hill Hotel.
Guildford is the historic county town of Surrey, known for its steep cobbled High Street set on a hill above the River Wey. Guildford railway station has frequent trains to London Waterloo and Portsmouth, and the town is served by the A3 linking to the M25 at junction 10. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Stoke Park on the edge of Guildford town centre, and Guildford Cathedral gives the day a strong sense of Guildford.

What we offer
Fine prints and framed art to bring your favourite images home.
We cover the Sikh ceremony with the respect it asks for, capturing the palki, the hymns and the moment you are joined.
A handful of timeless, beautifully lit portraits amid the celebration.
Every tradition
At a Muslim nikah we photograph the vows, the mehr and the joyful moment the couple are declared married. The most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance with a quiet long lens. At a Sikh wedding the exchange of garlands and the palla placed in the couple's hands begin the Anand Karaj, and we follow from the very first hymn.
We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. At the milni the two families meet and embrace, garlands are exchanged and the elders greet one another, and we record the warmth of that first joining. We capture the groom's arrival in procession, on a horse, in a car or on foot, surrounded by dancing family.

The whole celebration
For large pre-wedding gatherings a second photographer makes sure two moments at once are captured. Many Asian weddings begin days before the ceremony with the mehndi, the haldi and a sangeet.
We stay through the evening to capture the reception, from the grand entrance to the last dance. On the wedding day, the baraat, the ceremony and the vows build to the farewell and the reception.
Why choose us
Experience is not only knowing the rituals; it is knowing when a grandmother will cry and where the light will fall, and being ready for both. You want a photographer who reads the day instinctively, and instinct like that is simply what twenty-five years of Asian weddings leaves behind.
We cover the whole of the UK for Asian weddings, so distance never stands in the way. Multi-venue days are never an issue; we plan the route and the timings in advance.

Where we travel
Distance is never a problem; travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work. London-based but seldom in London, we spend much of the year photographing weddings out across Surrey and the counties that border it.

Good to know
We can. For weddings in Guildford where the ladies' side is kept private, or where a female photographer is preferred for the bridal preparations, we will arrange one as part of your coverage. Please mention this when you enquire so we can plan the team around your needs.
Experience is the answer. After more than a thousand weddings, we read the pace of an Asian day instinctively, moving ahead of the action rather than chasing it. A second photographer covers a different angle at busy moments, so nothing important slips past unrecorded.
Yes. For larger Asian weddings we bring a second photographer so simultaneous events and big guest lists are fully covered, and the baraat and the preparations can be captured at once.
Yes, these evenings are some of our favourites. The mehndi, sangeet and garba are full of colour, music and family energy, and they set the tone for everything that follows. We record them in a relaxed, observational style so the laughter and dancing come through honestly.
It varies with how many events you have, but multi-day Asian weddings typically produce several hundred finished images once we have edited the full collection. We select and refine every frame rather than handing over everything, so what you receive is the genuine story of your days.
Yes. We can begin with the mehndi and sangeet earlier in the week and carry through to the main ceremony and reception, giving your whole celebration a single, consistent visual story. Where the mehndi is a ladies-only event, a female photographer can cover it for you.
Pricing depends on how many days and events you would like covered, whether you want a second or female photographer, and which album you choose. Multi-day Asian weddings naturally involve more coverage, so we prepare a clear quote once we understand your plans. There are no hidden extras.
