The short answer
For couples marrying in Egham, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning Asian wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience across every tradition and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. For a Sikh anand karaj we keep our distance during the laavan, photographing the ragis and the family without a single interruption to the prayer. From the mehndi and sangeet to the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, we photograph every part of an Asian wedding in and around Egham with knowledge and care. We have spent twenty-five years learning the detail of Asian weddings, and it shows in every gallery. A second photographer for the busiest days, a female photographer where needed and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Surrey for your wedding.
Serving Egham
Egham is near Royal Holloway and grand Surrey venues. Couples throughout Staines, Virginia Water and Windsor trust us with ceremonies in their family's place of worship and receptions in the county's largest venues alike. At a Hindu wedding, the pheras around the sacred fire seal the marriage, and we capture them close.
We photograph the elders and the children as closely as the couple, because a wedding is the whole family gathered, not just the two people at the centre. At a nikah we stay respectful and unhurried, letting the signing, the blessings and the quiet joy unfold without asking anyone to pose for us. We balance documentary coverage with a few quiet portraits, so your album holds both energy and elegance.
From the mehndi to the reception we keep the day flowing across Surrey, and Egham is near Royal Holloway and grand Surrey venues, firmly within the ground we cover. We also work in nearby Weybridge and Epsom. Venues we know well in and near Egham include Great Fosters, Royal Holloway and Wentworth Club.
Egham is a Surrey town beside Runnymede, the Thames-side meadow where Magna Carta was sealed in 1215, and close to Royal Holloway, University of London. Egham railway station lies on the Waterloo to Reading line, about 21 miles from London Waterloo, with the M25 nearby at junction 13. We often take couples to The Runnymede meadows managed by the National Trust for a few quiet portraits, and Royal Holloway, University of London, with its Founder's Building is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
Mehndi, sangeet, ceremony and reception across several days, with second photographers for large events.
The henna, the music and the family performances all deserve proper coverage, and we hold each evening as its own event.
Between the rituals we gather calm, considered portraits of you both, made to sit comfortably beside the candid frames.
Every tradition
At a Hindu wedding, the pheras around the sacred fire seal the marriage, and we capture them close. The kanyadaan, when a father places his daughter's hand in her husband's, is quiet and full of feeling, and we frame it without ever intruding. We photograph the seven steps of the saptapadi and the couple's first steps as a married pair.
Preparations hold a quiet anticipation of their own, and we photograph the jewellery, the tying of the turban and the last still moments before the day begins. We document the engagement and pre-wedding events that begin the journey, when families ask us. Each pre-wedding event carries its own mood, the intimacy of the mehndi, the play of the haldi, the exuberance of the sangeet, and we photograph all three in their own key.

The whole celebration
A celebration often opens with an intimate mehndi at home and a lively sangeet full of music and dance. The sangeet brings an evening of rehearsed dances and late-night music before the wedding day itself.
We think about the whole arc of the day before it starts, mapping the light, the venues and the meals so nothing important is rushed and nothing quiet is missed. A full day of rituals can stretch for hours, so we pace ourselves and pace our coverage, making sure the energy at midnight is as sharp as it was at dawn.
Why choose us
We have worked in temples, gurdwaras and mosques the length of the country, and that range means your venue and its customs hold no surprises for us. We know the rhythm of a mandap, a gurdwara and a nikah alike, so the sacred moments are always captured.
We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us across the Home Counties. We are used to celebrations spread across several venues, and keep the day flowing between them.

Where we travel
London-based but seldom in London, we spend much of the year photographing weddings out across Surrey and the counties that border it. Whether your celebration keeps to one venue or ranges across the county, we carry backup equipment to every location so nothing is ever left to chance.

Good to know
It varies with how many events you have, but multi-day Asian weddings typically produce several hundred finished images once we have edited the full collection. We select and refine every frame rather than handing over everything, so what you receive is the genuine story of your days.
Many times. Asian weddings bring together dhol drummers, decorators, caterers and entertainers, and we know how to work alongside them without getting in each other's way. Good coordination on the day keeps things flowing, and it means we are always in the right place when something happens.
Of course. We are used to celebrations that span two or three days, taking in the mehndi, the sangeet, the haldi, the ceremony and the reception. For the largest of these we bring additional photographers, so every event from the baraat to the last dance is captured.
Absolutely. Be it an intimate ceremony with close family in Egham or a celebration of several hundred guests, we tailor our coverage to your day and your traditions. Every wedding matters to us, and the same care and attention go into each, whatever its size.
Yes. Many Asian weddings run across several days, from the mehndi and sangeet through to the main ceremony and reception, and we are happy to cover the full sequence in Egham. We agree the schedule with you in advance so nothing important is missed, and a second photographer joins for the busier days.
Yes. We are familiar with Gujarati traditions, from the lively garba and dandiya evenings to the ceremony rituals and the playful games between the two families. Knowing these customs means we are ready with the camera when the fun and the meaningful moments arrive.
Yes, these evenings are some of our favourites. The mehndi, sangeet and garba are full of colour, music and family energy, and they set the tone for everything that follows. We record them in a relaxed, observational style so the laughter and dancing come through honestly.
