Egham is near Royal Holloway and grand Surrey venues. From the gurdwara to the reception, we keep the day flowing across venues throughout Staines, Virginia Water and Windsor. We are as at ease with a quiet family langar as we are with a reception of several hundred guests.

We are calm and unhurried, gathering the whole story of the Anand Karaj without ever getting in the way. We keep the calm of the kirtan and the exuberance of the reception in equal measure. Inside the gurdwara we work with great discretion, heads covered and shoes removed, never intruding on the kirtan.

We have photographed Sikh weddings throughout Staines, Virginia Water and Windsor for many years, and Egham, near Royal Holloway and grand Surrey venues, is a familiar and welcome destination. We also cover nearby Weybridge and Epsom. In and around Egham, we have photographed at venues such as Great Fosters, Royal Holloway and Wentworth Club.

Egham is a Surrey town beside Runnymede, the Thames-side meadow where Magna Carta was sealed in 1215, and close to Royal Holloway, University of London. Egham railway station lies on the Waterloo to Reading line, about 21 miles from London Waterloo, with the M25 nearby at junction 13. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as The Runnymede meadows managed by the National Trust, with Royal Holloway, University of London, with its Founder's Building close by for a striking backdrop.

Honouring every Sikh custom

The most sacred moments inside the gurdwara are captured with a quiet long lens, from a respectful distance. As the ragis sing each laav, the couple walk slowly around the Guru Granth Sahib, and we photograph it quietly from the side. The langar that follows the ceremony, shared by the whole sangat, is a moment of community we capture with warmth.

We photograph the sehra bandi, when the groom's turban and sehra are tied, with all its ceremony. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. We capture the lively milni as the two families meet, with the garlands, the dhol and the embraces.
