The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Surrey for over twenty five years, and couples in Redhill choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. We move with the rhythm of the day, quick when the action is fast and patient when it slows, so nothing important slips past unrecorded. Whatever your wedding looks like in Redhill, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. What twenty-five years does not teach you is complacency about the day itself. Every wedding still gets a written plan, a scouted route and a check of sunset time. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Surrey and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
The railway made this Surrey commuter town in the nineteenth century and still defines it: Redhill station is an interchange for the Brighton Main Line, the North Downs Line and the Redhill to Tonbridge route, with junction 8 of the M25 close by. For a photographer that means guests converge from several directions and the morning schedule needs slack at the front. The nearest strong park setting, Priory Park, lies in neighbouring Reigate rather than in the town itself, so a portrait trip there is a decision made at the planning stage and not on the day. St John's Church, with its tall spire, gives a closer alternative. Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa, Reigate Hill Golf Club and Robert Denholm House each hold their own grounds, which usually removes the need to travel at all. Nutfield, Earlswood and Bletchingley are near enough for late family arrivals.
Serving Redhill
Redhill is a Surrey town with a diverse community. Our venue coverage spans churches, marquees, banqueting halls, country houses and garden settings throughout Reigate, Horley and Merstham and the rest of Surrey. The exchange of rings, the signing of the register and the walk back up the aisle all matter to us, and we cover each without asking you to pause.
During the quiet stretches we keep looking for the details you arranged, the flowers, the notes, the table settings, and fit them in without slowing anything down. You will barely notice us for much of the day, and that is the point; the less we intrude, the more relaxed everyone stays in front of the lens. The walk back down the aisle happens fast and only once, so we are already at the back of the room before the registrar has finished speaking, rather than following behind you.
We have spent many happy days behind the camera in Redhill. Redhill is a Surrey town with a diverse community, and couples nearby in Esher and Cobham often bring us in for their own celebrations. Local wedding venues we know near Redhill include Reigate Hill Golf Club, Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa and Robert Denholm House.
Redhill is a Surrey commuter town that grew substantially with the arrival of the railway in the 19th century. Redhill railway station is a major interchange on the Brighton Main Line, the North Downs Line and the Redhill to Tonbridge line, close to the M25 at junction 8. For portraits away from the celebration, Priory Park in neighbouring Reigate works beautifully, and St John's Church, Redhill, with its tall spire adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
Every wedding is different, so we shape hours, albums and extras around your plans rather than a fixed list.
As the lights drop and the dancing starts, we keep working to catch the energy of the party in full swing.
For weddings that run across two or three days, we build coverage around each event so nothing is left out.
Every kind of wedding
The look you give each other as the words are spoken is often the picture you keep longest, and we are ready for it however your ceremony is arranged. Candlelit or evening ceremonies need a decision made in advance about whether flash is permitted, and if it is not, we shoot at higher sensitivities and accept a little grain. Signing the register is almost always a re-enactment for the camera, and we keep it to two frames rather than the long staged sequence that used to be standard.
From the buttonholes being pinned to the sparklers at the door, we follow the surrounding events of the day and treat each one as part of the same story. Live music, a first look or a surprise performance should be flagged to us in advance, because surprises photograph badly when the photographer is genuinely surprised too. The evening brings a different mood, and we adjust our lighting so the dancing, the singing and the late laughter all come through with warmth and life.

The whole celebration
Curtains open, overhead lights off, clutter pushed to one side: three small changes that make the difference between preparation photographs that look styled and ones that look like a hotel room. Suits, watches and cufflinks deserve the same attention as the dress, and photographing them takes about ten minutes if they are laid out before we arrive.
We watch the whole room, not only the couple, so the day comes back to you through your guests' faces as much as your own. From the first arrivals to the last dance, we keep a steady thread running through the pictures so nothing important slips past unseen.
Why choose us
Over twenty-five years the biggest change in wedding photography has been guest phones, and the practical answer is to be closer than they are and to shoot slightly before they do. After a thousand celebrations you learn that the group-shot list is where days are lost. Twelve combinations take about forty minutes; six take twenty, and nobody ever misses the other six.
A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Reigate, Horley and Merstham and Surrey stays seamless. A day that moves between two or three venues asks for careful timing, and we sort the route and the schedule well before we leave for Reigate, Horley and Merstham.

Where we travel
Multi-location days, with a ceremony in one place and a reception in another, are something we plan carefully, whether that is within Reigate, Horley and Merstham or across Surrey. Should the day in Surrey run late into the evening, we would plan accommodation nearby rather than shorten the coverage to make a long drive home more comfortable.

We agree the family combinations with you beforehand, keeping the list short and realistic so there is no hanging around. When the moment comes we call people up clearly and press on through each grouping, generally completing the formal photos in twenty to thirty minutes. Done efficiently, it leaves you plenty of time to spend with everyone. Venues we know near Redhill include Reigate Hill Golf Club and Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa.
Your date is held once we have a signed agreement and a booking deposit, with the balance due before the wedding. The deposit secures your date against other enquiries and comes off your total. We keep the paperwork simple and clear, and we are always happy to explain any part of it before you commit. We cover Redhill and nearby Nutfield, Earlswood and Bletchingley.
No, we concentrate on photography and leave film to the specialists, so nothing distracts us from the stills. If you would like a wedding film as well, we collaborate comfortably with videographers and can suggest teams whose look pairs nicely with ours. Arranging both early on helps everyone build around the same running order. Redhill is easy to reach: Redhill railway station is a major interchange on the Brighton Main Line, the North Downs Line and the Redhill to Tonbridge line, close to the M25 at junction 8.
Yes, and we have dedicated coverage for Asian and multicultural weddings, with experience across Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and mixed-tradition celebrations. These days often run across several events, so please ask about our specialist pages and multi-day options. We will make sure the customs and people that matter to both families are photographed with real understanding. Outdoors in Redhill we like Priory Park in neighbouring Reigate.
Yes. Where a moment lends itself to it, we prepare a thoughtful black and white version next to the colour edit, typically for strong light, raw emotion or reportage frames. There is no extra charge for this. Your full gallery comes in colour, with black and white reserved for the images where it genuinely lifts the shot. We know Redhill well, including St John's Church, Redhill, with its tall spire.
We edit every selected image by hand for colour, exposure and tone, keeping skin and daylight looking natural rather than heavily filtered. Our retouching stays light, clearing passing distractions and the odd blemish without ever reshaping how you actually look. If something specific concerns you, tell us early and we will make a note of it before your Redhill day.
