The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Surrey for over twenty five years, and couples in Staines-upon-Thames choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. Most of the day we work quietly from the edges, watching for the small moments between the big ones and letting them unfold without any nudging from us. Whatever your wedding looks like in Staines-upon-Thames, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. Our long track record gives couples confidence that we will turn up prepared, work through the whole day, and deliver the pictures we promised on time. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Surrey and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Staines-upon-Thames
Staines-upon-Thames is a Thames-side town. Our couples marry in village churches, converted barns, marquees and elegant hotels right across Surrey, and we know many of the venues around Egham, Ashford and Sunbury well. When two traditions come together in one ceremony, we photograph each part with equal warmth so the finished set honours both sides of your family.
Where formal groups are wanted we keep them efficient and good humoured, so you spend more of the day with your guests and less of it lining up for the camera. We keep a low profile through the ceremony and speeches, using longer lenses from a distance so nobody feels watched and the real reactions come through. We keep direction to a minimum, offering just enough for you to feel at ease in front of the lens while the honesty of the moment stays intact.
Over the years we have grown to know Staines-upon-Thames and its venues. Staines-upon-Thames is a Thames-side town, and we photograph weddings across the surrounding towns too, from Egham through to Weybridge. Local wedding venues we know near Staines-upon-Thames include Great Fosters.
Staines-upon-Thames is a market town in northwest Surrey at the confluence of the River Thames and the River Colne, with a diverse South Asian community. Staines railway station is managed by South Western Railway with trains to London Waterloo, Reading via Ascot and Windsor, and the M25 passes nearby at junction 13. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Lammas Recreation Ground on the riverside at Staines, with Staines Bridge over the River Thames close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
Every wedding is different, so we shape hours, albums and extras around your plans rather than a fixed list.
Your online gallery lands soon after the day, ready to share with family who could not be in the room.
The family groups are done kindly and briskly, worked out beforehand so nobody stands around waiting.
Every kind of wedding
For any faith or none, we treat the ceremony as sacred to you, working gently so nothing we do pulls focus from the vows themselves. We photograph readings, rings and the signing of the register with a light hand, blending multicultural or fusion elements naturally when they are part of your day. For a service of any faith or none, we dress and behave respectfully, learn the shape of the day in advance and stay unobtrusive throughout the vows.
Group photographs need not feel like a chore, and we run them briskly and with good humour so you are soon back among your guests. From getting ready in the morning to the final send off, we document the whole day as it flows, so nothing between the big moments is lost. We photograph the cake, the first dance and the evening party with an easy touch, so the celebration keeps its energy while we quietly gather the pictures.

The whole celebration
Starting with the preparations lets us gather the small details, the shoes, the rings, the handwritten notes, before the day gathers pace around you. For a first look or a private exchange of gifts before the ceremony, we hold back and let it happen, gathering the picture from a respectful distance.
We watch the whole room, not only the couple, so the day comes back to you through your guests' faces as much as your own. We shape the coverage so the mood shifts gradually, from the still morning through the ceremony and into the noise and warmth of the evening.
Why choose us
Whatever the size or style of your wedding, we have very likely photographed something similar, and that familiarity lets us focus fully on your particular day. With more than twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, very little on a wedding day is new to us, and that calm shows in the pictures.
You focus on the day and we handle the travel, arriving early at your Surrey venue and staying as long as the plan requires. Multi-location days, with a ceremony in one place and a reception in another, are something we plan carefully, whether that is within Egham, Ashford and Sunbury or across Surrey.

Where we travel
Because we have photographed in so many corners of Surrey, we usually know the venue, the light and the parking before we even set off for Egham, Ashford and Sunbury. We come to you, wherever the day unfolds, and we are comfortable covering venues throughout Surrey and the surrounding counties.

Good to know
Yes, as much as you need. For portraits we offer simple, friendly prompts about where to stand and what to do with your hands, so you never feel stranded in front of the lens. The rest of the day needs almost nothing from you, because we work quietly around the celebration as it unfolds.
We focus on ground-based photography and do not fly drones ourselves, since aerial work needs separate licensing and insurance. If your venue allows it and you want aerial coverage, we can suggest a qualified operator to work alongside us. Our attention stays on the people and moments throughout the day.
Our albums are fine-art and hand-finished, designed with real care so they feel like a treasured keepsake rather than a printed booklet. We choose the images with you, arrange the pages to tell the story of your day, and use quality materials built to last. Many couples tell us the album becomes a family favourite.
We carry professional backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, and we photograph to dual memory cards so images are written twice as we go. We also hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which many venues ask to see. Nothing on a wedding day can be re-run, so this cover is not optional for us.
It depends on your schedule. Preparations through to the first dance usually needs eight to ten hours, while a shorter civil ceremony and reception can work in less. We are happy to look at your rough timeline and suggest the hours that cover the moments you care about without paying for time you do not need.
Yes. Staines-upon-Thames and the wider Surrey area are well within our usual coverage, and we travel across the UK for weddings with no surprise travel cost added on. We like to discuss your venues and the route between them in advance, so the timings work and the day runs to plan.
You receive a private online gallery of high-resolution images, which you can view, download and share with family and friends from any device. The gallery includes full-size files suitable for printing. We keep a backup for a set period after delivery, so nothing is lost if you misplace your copies.
