We bring a long lens and a light touch, so the four laavan are captured from the sides of the gurdwara at a respectful distance. We understand the etiquette of the gurdwara and the vegetarian langar, and photograph within it with genuine respect. We follow your family's Sikh customs closely and photograph the sehra bandi and the palla exactly as you keep them.

Hatfield is a Hertfordshire town that grew as a post-war new town and is home to the University of Hertfordshire and the historic Old Hatfield quarter. Hatfield railway station is on the Great Northern route from London King's Cross, and the A1(M) runs alongside the town. We often take couples to The gardens and parkland of the Hatfield House estate for a few quiet portraits, and Hatfield House, the Jacobean stately home of the Marquess of Salisbury is a lovely backdrop nearby.

We know the order of the Anand Karaj by heart, from the kirtan to the ardaas and the four laavan. The ardaas and the hukamnama that frame the ceremony are moments of stillness we capture with care. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye.

The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals. The dhol and bhangra of the jaggo are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy.
