Serving Newham
Newham is a fast-changing east London borough. Couples come to us from across London and the surrounding area, and Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham are firmly on our patch. We photograph at gurdwaras, banqueting halls and marquees right across Greater London.
Inside the gurdwara we work with great discretion, heads covered and shoes removed, never intruding on the kirtan. We understand the etiquette of the gurdwara and the vegetarian langar, and photograph within it with genuine respect. We make sure the families are in the story too, from the milni embraces to the blessings of the sangat.
We know Newham, a fast-changing east London borough, and the surrounding part of Greater London well, having photographed Sikh weddings throughout Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham. We are often in nearby North Harrow and Northwood too. We are at home at Newham-area venues such as East Ham Town Hall, The Grove Banqueting and Crown Banqueting Suite.
A fast-changing east London borough, one of the capital's most ethnically diverse, and host of the 2012 Olympic Games. Served by Stratford station on the Elizabeth line, Jubilee line and DLR, with the A13 crossing the borough. For portraits away from the celebration, West Ham Park, managed by the City of London works beautifully, and The London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
At home with the sehra bandi, the choora, the kaleere and the energy of the bhangra.
The four hymns the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib for, photographed with quiet reverence from the side of the darbar sahib.
Punjabi and Sikh weddings across every family tradition, with the milni and the laavan understood.
Every tradition
The langar that follows the ceremony, shared by the whole sangat, is a moment of community we capture with warmth. The four laavan, each a hymn the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib for, are the heart of the ceremony, and we capture them with reverence. At the heart of a Sikh wedding is the Anand Karaj, the blissful union performed before the Guru Granth Sahib.
The maiyan, when turmeric is applied, is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest moments. The jaggo night is an evening of music, dancing and pots lit with candles, and we capture all of its energy. We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals.

The whole celebration
We arrive in good time for each pre-wedding event and stay until the celebrations wind down. The early events are full of warmth and laughter, and we photograph them with the same care as the Anand Karaj.
The story often turns to the doli in the afternoon, before the energy of the evening reception. We document the grand moments and the quiet ones in between, so nothing is lost.
Why choose us
We have photographed Sikh weddings and their gurdwara ceremonies across the country for more than two decades. Experience means we are ready for the early gurdwara start, the milni and the precise order of the four laavan.
Multi-venue Sikh days are never an issue; we plan the route from the gurdwara to the reception and the timings in advance. We are London-based but rarely in London; much of our work takes us to the gurdwaras and jaggo nights of London and the surrounding area.

Where we travel
Wherever your jaggo and your Anand Karaj take place across London and the surrounding area, we will be there in good time for the morning kirtan. We factor in the early gurdwara timings and the milni carefully, so we are always in position before the four laavan.

Good to know
Very. We photograph the four laavan and the prayers from a respectful distance with quiet, long-lens work, seated with the sangat, so the Anand Karaj is never disturbed.
Of course. Whether it is an intimate Anand Karaj or a celebration of several hundred, we tailor our coverage to your day and your family.
You will receive a small preview soon after the day, followed by your full edited gallery. We then design a hand-finished album that holds the whole story of your celebration.
Yes. We understand that gurdwaras often require an early finish, so the Anand Karaj usually falls in the morning. We plan our coverage around it and always arrive in good time.
Very much so. We know the ceremony by heart, from the milni and the kirtan to the ardaas and the four laavan, and we position ourselves so each laav is captured calmly and respectfully.
