We plan for an hour outdoors and finish sooner if the dog has clearly had enough. The camera stays low for most of that, down at head height instead of aiming down at the animal, which is why the results look like the dog rather than a pet standing by your shoes.
The lead stays on anywhere recall is doubtful, and it gets taken off the picture at the retouch stage. What lands is an edited gallery, including mono conversions wherever the coat justifies one.

The A13 runs across the borough, and it wants settling before a Newham dog session rather than during one. Traffic noise carries a long way, and a dog steady in a quiet garden becomes a different animal beside a road it can hear but cannot see. West Ham Park is the answer largely for that reason: enclosed ground, back from the carriageway, where the noise floor drops far enough that a whistle or a name actually lands. Coat colour picks the hour after that. On mown grass under flat cloud a black dog has no edges at all. The grass sits mid tone, the coat records as a silhouette, and lifting it afterwards only brings up green grain.
