The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Greater London for over twenty five years, and couples in Newham choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. We stay observant and patient, waiting for expressions to arrive naturally rather than asking for them, which keeps the whole set feeling warm and unposed. Whatever your wedding looks like in Newham, a church service, a register office, a country house, a barn or a hotel, and whatever your traditions, we photograph the whole day as it happens. Editing a full wedding properly takes far longer than couples expect, because every selected frame is corrected individually. That is why galleries take weeks rather than the days a phone would. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Hosting the 2012 Olympic Games left this east London borough with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the London Stadium, and that open, modern landscape photographs very differently from the older streets around it. West Ham Park, managed by the City of London, is the gentler alternative when a family group needs trees rather than concrete. As one of the capital's most ethnically diverse boroughs, it hosts a wide range of ceremony traditions, and the venues reflect that: East Ham Town Hall, The Grove Banqueting, Crown Banqueting Suite, Sunborn London and Brick Lane Music Hall at Silvertown are five very different rooms. Stratford station carries the Elizabeth line, Jubilee line and DLR, so most guests arrive by rail, while the A13 crosses the borough for anyone driving in from Stratford, East Ham or Canning Town.
Serving Newham
Newham is a fast-changing east London borough. Grand estates, garden marquees, hotel ballrooms and quiet parish churches all appear in the weddings we shoot around Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham and across Greater London. Confetti immediately after a church service works better than an hour later, because the guests are already assembled and nobody has drifted towards the bar yet.
Where formal groups are wanted we keep them efficient and good humoured, so you spend more of the day with your guests and less of it lining up for the camera. We read the light in each room and work with what the day gives us, favouring window light and shade over anything that draws attention to a camera. Group shots are quicker if the list is agreed in writing beforehand and one confident relative calls the names, and we will suggest cutting anything past about eight combinations.
Getting across to Newham is a straightforward run for us. Newham is a fast-changing east London borough, and we photograph weddings here and throughout the surrounding towns, North Harrow and Northwood among them. Newham and the towns around it offer venues such as East Ham Town Hall, The Grove Banqueting and Crown Banqueting Suite.

Served by Stratford station on the Elizabeth line, Jubilee line and DLR, with the A13 crossing the borough. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as West Ham Park, managed by the City of London, with The London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
A relaxed pre-wedding shoot lets us get to know each other and helps you feel at ease in front of the camera.
As the light drops and the music starts, we keep going, following the party through to the last dance.
Printed albums are made by hand from your favourite frames, so the day lives somewhere beyond a screen.
Every kind of wedding
Between the vows and the ring exchange there is usually a pause while the registrar speaks, and that gap is when we move position, never during the words themselves. Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony. From the walk down the aisle to the final blessing, we follow the ceremony as it happens, never staging a thing and never breaking its rhythm.
The first dance is yours alone for a moment, and we photograph it from the edges, letting the room and its faces frame you naturally. During the meal we photograph the room from the doorway rather than table by table, which spares your guests being interrupted mid-course by a camera. Between the set pieces there are portraits of just the two of you, and we keep those short and natural so you can slip back to the party quickly.

The whole celebration
Ceremonies with a long journey between the preparation location and the venue need travel time protecting, and we would rather lose ten minutes of detail shots than arrive behind you. Cars arrive earlier than expected surprisingly often, and we plan to have the detail shots finished before that, since nothing derails a morning like a driver waiting outside.
If you want photographs of the venue lit at night, that takes five minutes and needs to be flagged, since it happens after most coverage would otherwise have ended. Golden hour in June falls around nine in the evening, well after the first dance, while in October it lands before the main course. We build the portrait slot around whichever applies.
Why choose us
Being award-winning matters less to us on the day than being unflappable. A missing buttonhole or a late car is a problem we have already solved several dozen times. Long experience means we handle groups and speeches smoothly, keeping things moving so the schedule holds and your guests stay relaxed.
It is no trouble at all for us to head out to Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham and the wider Greater London, and we often do exactly that across the wedding season. Rural venues in Greater London often have poor mobile signal and vague postcodes, so we ask for a landmark or a pin dropped on a map rather than relying on a satnav to find the gate.

Where we travel
A day that moves between two or three venues asks for careful timing, and we sort the route and the schedule well before we leave for Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham. Wherever the celebration takes you, we come along, covering venues throughout Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham and right across Greater London without a fuss.

Good to know
Many couples find it does. A relaxed pre-wedding session lets you get used to how we work and how you look in your photos, with no pressure and no audience. It also gives us images for save-the-dates or guest books. By your wedding day, being photographed feels natural rather than new. Newham landmarks we photograph near include The London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The cost shifts according to how long you want us there, whether a second photographer joins us, and if you add an album. We would gladly go over the options for your Newham wedding and shape a quote around your plans and what you have to spend. A quick call on 07956 505383 is the easiest way to start.
Our albums are fine-art and hand-finished, designed with real care so they feel like a treasured keepsake rather than a printed booklet. We choose the images with you, arrange the pages to tell the story of your day, and use quality materials built to last. Many couples tell us the album becomes a family favourite. For Newham bookings the nearest link is served by Stratford station on the Elizabeth line, Jubilee line and DLR, with the A13 crossing the borough.
Our work is firmly ground-based, and we leave drones to the specialists, given the separate licensing and insurance they demand. Where a venue allows aerial shots and you would like some, we are happy to suggest a properly qualified operator to join us. That way we keep our own focus on capturing the people and moments as they happen. Around Newham we have photographed at East Ham Town Hall and The Grove Banqueting.
We deliver everything via a private online gallery of high-resolution photographs, accessible from a phone, tablet or computer, so you can download and share them with everyone you love. Because the files are full size, they print beautifully. And should you ever misplace them, we keep a backup for a while after handover. For outdoor photographs in Newham we often use West Ham Park, managed by the City of London.
It depends on your plans, though most couples choose coverage from the morning preparations through to the first dance, which is around eight to ten hours. If you would like us there for only part of the day, that is absolutely fine too. Tell us your timings and we will suggest what fits your Newham celebration.
At the heart of every package sits full-day coverage, your edited high-resolution photographs and a private gallery to share. From there the extras are yours to pick: a second photographer, a pre-wedding shoot, a fine-art album. We would rather understand your plans and shape something around them than push a one-size offering onto you. Newham and neighbouring Stratford, East Ham and Canning Town are all covered.
