Serving Lewisham
Lewisham is a south-east London borough. Wherever your events are held across Greenwich, Bromley, we plan the timings and travel with care. We cover the whole of London and the surrounding area, and Lewisham and the towns around it are well known to us.
We take the time beforehand to understand your family's customs and the order of the maiyan, mehndi and jaggo. We arrive early for the gurdwara start, stay through the doli and keep pace with the reception. We let the Anand Karaj unfold at its own pace and meet the four laavan with a quiet, watchful eye.
We are often in Lewisham, a south-east London borough, for Sikh weddings, and from London the area, taking in Greenwich, Bromley, is an easy journey. We also photograph in nearby Merton and Newham. Around Lewisham we regularly photograph at JK Banquet Hall and The Garden of Lewisham, among others.
A diverse south-east London borough that was named London Borough of Culture for 2022. Served by Lewisham station and DLR terminus, with the A20 running through the borough. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Manor House Gardens in Lee, with The Horniman Museum and Gardens at Forest Hill close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
A handful of timeless portraits taken away from the darbar sahib, amid the celebration.
The morning meeting of the two families, with garlands, the dhol and warm embraces, captured in full.
The music, the dancing and the candlelit pots of the jaggo, captured with all their energy.
Every tradition
The kirtan and shabads that fill the gurdwara are as much a part of the story as the laavan themselves. We are mindful of gurdwara etiquette throughout, never turning our back to the Guru Granth Sahib. Heads covered and seated on the floor with the sangat, we photograph the laavan without ever intruding.
The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it. We photograph the sehra bandi, when the groom's turban and sehra are tied, with all its ceremony. We document the sagai and the engagement that begin the journey, when families ask us.

The whole celebration
Many Sikh weddings begin days before with the maiyan, the mehndi and a jaggo night. Tell us which events matter most and we will build the coverage around them.
We always recommend a little time for couple portraits, often after the ceremony, away from the bustle. Just fifteen minutes is enough for a handful of timeless portraits near your venue.
Why choose us
Over a thousand celebrations have taught us when to step close for the milni and when to stand quietly back during the laavan. We bring the steadiness that only comes from photographing the Anand Karaj for twenty-five years.
Multi-venue Sikh days are never an issue; we plan the route from the gurdwara to the reception and the timings in advance. We photograph across Greater London regularly, and travelling to a gurdwara in Lewisham is second nature to us.

Where we travel
We cover the whole of the UK for Anand Karaj ceremonies, so distance never stands between us and your gurdwara. We travel happily across Greater London and the neighbouring counties for the maiyan, the Anand Karaj and the doli alike.

Good to know
You will receive a small preview soon after the day, followed by your full edited gallery. We then design a hand-finished album that holds the whole story of your celebration.
Yes. Alongside your edited digital gallery we design a hand-finished, fine-art album, so the whole story of your celebration is held in something to pass down.
Absolutely. We regularly cover the maiyan, mehndi, jaggo, the Anand Karaj and the reception in Lewisham, with additional photographers for the largest celebrations.
Very. We photograph the four laavan and the prayers from a respectful distance with quiet, long-lens work, seated with the sangat, so the Anand Karaj is never disturbed.
Yes. We understand gurdwara etiquette, cover our heads, remove our shoes and work from the sides and back with a long lens, never turning our back to the Guru Granth Sahib.
