Tower Hamlets is an east London borough taking in the Docklands. From grand banqueting venues to the calm of the darbar sahib, we are at home everywhere across Hackney, Newham. We are as at ease with a quiet family langar as we are with a reception of several hundred guests.

We photograph with warmth and respect, mindful of the meaning behind each shabad the ragis sing. We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the choora and kaleere as well as the four laavan. We document each event as it happens, from the morning milni to the langar, so your gallery feels true to the day.

We regularly cover nearby Uxbridge and Waltham Forest as well. Venues we have photographed at near Tower Hamlets include Town Hall Hotel, Museum of London Docklands and Young V&A.

Served by Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line and Elizabeth line, plus the DLR network. For portraits away from the celebration, Victoria Park in the north of the borough, one of London's oldest public parks works beautifully, and Canary Wharf financial district and the historic Tower of London on its western edge adds a real sense of place.

From milni to the four laavan

We are mindful of gurdwara etiquette throughout, never turning our back to the Guru Granth Sahib. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye. We work discreetly at the back and the sides of the darbar sahib, so the Anand Karaj is never disturbed.

The pre-wedding events are often where the most natural photographs come from, and we give them full attention. The jaggo night is an evening of music, dancing and pots lit with candles, and we capture all of its energy. We document the sagai and the engagement that begin the journey, when families ask us.
