Tower Hamlets and nearby
We fix a start time and a route, then shoot in short stretches, pausing to show the last few frames so the direction gets agreed while it can still be altered rather than regretted later.
You pick afterwards from a private gallery. The frames you choose are retouched individually, which means a blemish or a stray thread goes and the features are left as they are, and every file comes back twice over, big enough for a frame and small enough to post. The gallery stays open long enough to think it over.

What we offer
Portrait sittings anywhere in Tower Hamlets, at your own address or outdoors, with lighting carried to both.
Background chosen first, clothing chosen second: pale glass and old brick want opposite tones on a sitter.
Short sittings, frames reviewed while we shoot, and hand retouching on only the images you decide to keep.
Local and experienced
Personal-branding sessions are planned around how you want to be seen, from approachable to authoritative. We photograph a range of expressions and poses, from warm and smiling to quiet and considered, so you have real choice.
We photograph with professional lighting and a choice of backdrops, from crisp white to deep, moody tones. Albums are designed around a sequence rather than a collection, so a graduation or a couple sitting reads as a short story instead of a pile of prints.

Good to know
Either, and in Tower Hamlets nearly everyone picks the second. We travel out and photograph at your address, on a street you like, or in Victoria Park, which removes the cross-London trip completely. Coming to The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 makes sense only when you want a plain backdrop and lights instead of daylight and a real background. Say which when you enquire.
That depends on the kind of session you want and what you choose afterwards, whether digital files only or prints, frames, canvases and albums. Let us know what you have in mind, from a personal-branding set to a graduation portrait, and we will prepare a clear quote for you. Tower Hamlets and neighbouring Bow, Bethnal Green and Poplar are all covered.
Yes. Graduation portraits mark a real achievement, and we photograph them with warmth, in gown and cap if you wish. Sessions can be individual or shared with proud family members, and prints, frames and albums are available so the moment lasts well beyond the day itself. Around Tower Hamlets we plan for landmarks such as Canary Wharf financial district and the historic Tower of London on its western edge.
Yes. Portfolio work is a speciality, and plenty of performers from Tower Hamlets come to us for it. We shape a varied set of lighting styles and looks so your book has genuine range, and we guide you through expressions and poses with casting requirements always in mind.
Decide the background first, because it settles everything else: pale glass at the Docklands end, or older brick. Then pack a spare top in a contrasting tone, since one of the two will always sit better than the other. Flat shoes if Victoria Park is the plan, as grass stays damp well after paving has dried. Eat beforehand. Nothing else is needed.
Serving Tower Hamlets
Tower Hamlets is well within our travel area. It sits close to Hackney and Newham, which we cover too. We cover Tower Hamlets and the wider London area for portrait photography, on location or in the studio, with no local travel charge.
An east London borough taking in the Docklands, with a diverse community and a mix of historic and modern skyline. Served by Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line and Elizabeth line, plus the DLR network. For relaxed outdoor photographs around Tower Hamlets, we like Victoria Park in the north of the borough, and Canary Wharf financial district and the historic Tower of London on its western edge is a well-known local backdrop.
More in Tower Hamlets
The same studio, experience and personal care apply to every service we offer in Tower Hamlets. Explore the rest: We also cover portrait photography across London, including Camden, Sutton, Islington, Haringey, Croydon and Barnet.
Victoria Park sits at the northern end of the borough and it is the ground a Tower Hamlets sitting should be built around, though what makes it useful is its age rather than its acreage. Land that has been open to the public for as long as this has carries trees old enough to have grown a full crown, and a full crown is the cheapest way there is to take the hardness out of overhead sun. Put a sitter just inside that edge, facing outward, and the leaf overhead kills the top light while the open grass in front returns a little of it to the face. Move two paces further under and the same tree becomes a lid: everything turns green, flat, and darker than the meter would like. The bigger decision is which skyline stands behind the sitter, because this borough offers two that behave in opposite ways. The modern quarter around the financial district is pale, cool and reflective, and it will out-brighten a face without being asked to. The older streets are warm mid-toned brick, which a face sits in front of comfortably. Clothing follows that choice instead of preceding it. Rust, camel and warm brown vanish into brick. Pale grey and white vanish into glass. Mid navy, deep green and charcoal survive against either, so the first question we put to you is about the wall, not the wardrobe.
