Two boroughs, one morning
If the gurdwara is in Ilford and the reception in Newham or Walthamstow, give the move its own slot in the running order, with time for portraits in between.

A Sikh wedding in East London starts early at the gurdwara, and by evening the reception may be in another borough. Kaushik photographs the anand karaj quietly and keeps the rest of the day moving.
The short answer
Yes. Kaushik Bathia covers the milni, the anand karaj and the four laavan, the reception and the doli in Redbridge, Newham, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. Inside the gurdwara he follows its own rules for photographers. Wedding photography starts from £750, and travel from Northwood to an East London gurdwara, about 16 to 20 miles, is quoted in writing.
Kaushik was exceptional at creating our wedding photo album! He designed it so beautifully and his customer service was the best. The album quality and design is amazing, we loved it! Wow what a great job. Highly recommend for photo albums.
Would 100% recommend Kaushik Bathia Photography! Kaushik and his team photographed all my wedding functions and I couldn't be happier with the results. He listened to us, got to know our family and close one's and captured all the special moments. We had a great mixture of romantic portraits and natural candid photos of the ceremony. Thank you so much for the most beautiful, treasured wedding photos!
I had hired Mr Kaushik as our photographer for my son and daughters wedding fir all the ceremonies conducted and found him to be friendly professional with all the guests The quality of his photographs are excellent and are of high quality I was also very impressed when he had completed the albums He also give extra hours if needed and does not complain I would recommend to anyone
An early start
If your anand karaj is in the morning with the milni before it, the drive from Northwood shapes the start of the day: Ilford and East Ham are about 20 miles away, Walthamstow about 17 and Hackney about 16. Kaushik plans to arrive well before the baraat. Send us the gurdwara's start time as soon as it is confirmed, and the rest of the morning is planned back from it.
If both families are getting ready at home first, a second photographer can cover the other family's preparations at the same time. Travel from Northwood to each East London address on the day, including an early start, is set out in your written quote before you book.

Inside the gurdwara
Each gurdwara has its own guidance for photographers, and that is the one rule followed throughout. Ask the committee before the day where a photographer may stand during the four laavan, whether the hall can be photographed during kirtan and what is allowed in the langar hall, then pass the answers on so they are built into the plan.
Karah prashad, the ardas and the langar afterwards are part of the story too. The langar can be the most relaxed hour of the morning, with grandparents, cousins and friends at the same tables, and it is a good moment for the family pictures that the ceremony itself leaves no room for.
If the reception is in another borough, the langar is also when the timing gets tested. From an Ilford gurdwara to a reception in Newham is a short hop along the Romford Road, while a move from Hackney out to Redbridge takes longer, so tell us both addresses early.
The days before
The chunni, maiyan and jaggo can take place at the family homes in the days before the wedding. In East London those homes might be in Ilford, Forest Gate or Leyton, a few miles apart but each its own booking. List each event with its address and start time so the week can be planned in order.
The jaggo runs late, with the decorated pot of lamps, singing and dancing in the house and sometimes out on the street. Kaushik moves with the group rather than asking it to stop. Let your neighbours know, and agree a short route if the jaggo leaves the house, so everyone stays together.

Reception and registration
After the langar, the day moves to the reception. Large receptions in East London are held in banqueting suites and hotel ballrooms, and Redbridge's licensed list includes venues with large ballrooms and others where outdoor ceremonies are allowed. Tell us the reception venue early so the time between the two places is realistic.
Leave time between the gurdwara and the reception for couple portraits. Valentines Park in Ilford, West Ham Park in Newham and Mile End Park in Tower Hamlets, with its Green Bridge over the Mile End Road, are all options depending on where the reception is.
If your gurdwara is not registered for marriages, the legal part takes place at a register office. East Ham Town Hall, Redbridge Town Hall and Fellowship Square in Walthamstow all hold civil ceremonies, and you can book that on a separate day with a smaller group.

Planning
If the gurdwara is in Ilford and the reception in Newham or Walthamstow, give the move its own slot in the running order, with time for portraits in between.
Agree when the baraat arrives at the gurdwara, so the milni has time before the anand karaj starts and nobody is rushed inside.
If the jaggo moves into the street in Forest Gate or Leyton, plan a short loop near the house and tell the neighbours in advance.
Ask whether the gurdwara can register the marriage. If not, book a civil ceremony at East Ham, Ilford or Walthamstow on another day.

Good to know
Wedding photography starts from £750. A Sikh wedding with the jaggo, the anand karaj and a reception is quoted as a bespoke package listing each event, the album and any second photographer. Travel from Northwood to Ilford, Forest Gate or Walthamstow is shown as its own line in the written quote.
Ask where a photographer may stand during the laavan, whether kirtan can be photographed and what is allowed in the langar hall. Kaushik follows the gurdwara's guidance, and knowing it in advance means the ceremony is covered properly without anyone being asked to move.
Yes. Redbridge and Newham are neighbouring boroughs, so the move from the gurdwara to the reception can be short. Leave time in the plan for couple portraits and for weekend traffic on the Romford Road.
It is legally recognised when the gurdwara is registered for marriages and an authorised person attends. Your committee can confirm this. If not, a civil ceremony at Redbridge Town Hall, East Ham Town Hall or Waltham Forest Town Hall makes the marriage legal, and Kaushik can photograph that as well.
Yes. Both are booked as their own events within a bespoke package. The maiyan is close and family-centred, and the jaggo is loud and late, so tell us the address and the start time for each one.
Clissold Park in Stoke Newington and Springfield Park, which looks across Walthamstow Marshes, both suit Hackney. In Walthamstow, Lloyd Park has terraced gardens and a moat with an island. Choose the park nearest your reception.
Yes. Tell us where and when the doli will happen. It can be the most emotional moment of the day, and a clear time in the running order means it is photographed properly rather than squeezed in at the end.
