Somewhere to sit
Valentines Park has two cafés and Lloyd Park has low terrace walls. Both give you places to rest between set-ups, which matters more after 32 weeks.

Bump portraits at home or in a park near you, from Clissold Park in Stoke Newington to Hainault Forest on the Redbridge side. Kaushik plans the date with you around 28 to 34 weeks.
The short answer
Kaushik Bathia comes to you: your home, your garden, or a park such as Victoria Park, Lloyd Park in Walthamstow or Valentines Park in Ilford. Hackney is about 16 miles from Northwood and Redbridge just under 20, and travel from Northwood is quoted up front and set out in writing before you book. The best time is between about 28 and 34 weeks, when the bump is clearly rounded but you are still comfortable. Prices are given by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383.
Really appreciated the effort that went into the photoshoot and getting my baby to smile for the photos. Lovely photos to take home. Would recommend.
Great service! Kaushik was able to capture some beautiful shots for my maternity baby and bump shoot. He was very helpful and guided me with the poses throughout the shoot. I love the pictures & I’m looking forward to having the final edits!
Amazing service from Mr Kaushik Bathia. He is very professional, friendly and helpful. He made the family photoshoot a funny and pleasant experience. We highly recommend him! Thank you.
The window
Aim for about 28 to 34 weeks, when the bump is clearly rounded and you are still comfortable on your feet. In East London, the useful planning point is the park: Valentines Park and Lloyd Park both have somewhere to sit, so a session there suits the later end of the window, while a long walk on Hainault Forest's paths is better earlier on. Book a few weeks ahead, with room to move the date if an appointment gets in the way.
Send your due date when you first get in touch, and say whether you would like home or a park. That one choice decides most of the planning: a park session needs a dry forecast and comfortable shoes, while a home session can go ahead in any weather and can be moved at short notice without anyone losing a booking at a location.

At home
Home is often the easiest choice late in pregnancy. Between set-ups you can rest on your own sofa, swap outfits upstairs and put the kettle on whenever you need a break. A bright room near a window works well, and the nursery you are getting ready can appear in a few frames if you would like it to, perhaps with the cot or a tiny outfit laid out.
Partners and older children are welcome and can make the warmest pictures of the set: a toddler with an ear to the bump, or the two of you on the sofa you will soon share with a baby. Kaushik guides the posing gently throughout, so you never have to wonder where to put your hands. The national maternity photoshoot page covers the session in more depth.
Waltham Forest and Redbridge
Lloyd Park on Forest Road in Walthamstow has original terraced gardens and a moat with an island, so there are low walls and steps to lean on rather than standing for long. Valentines Park in Ilford holds a Green Flag Award for 2026 and surrounds the Grade II* listed Valentines Mansion and its historic gardens, and its two cafés give you somewhere to sit and warm up between outfits.
Further out, Hainault Forest covers 400 acres of woodland and parkland with a lake and the Woodhenge wood sculptures. In spring, the ancient oak and hornbeam woodland at Claybury Woods and Park is known for its bluebells, and in autumn the mature trees of Elmhurst Gardens in South Woodford give a vista of colour. Spring blossom and autumn colour are the two seasons that suit an outdoor bump session most.

Hackney and Tower Hamlets
Victoria Park opened to the public in 1845 and covers about 86 hectares on Hackney's southern border, so pick an entrance close to a quiet stretch of lawn and keep the walk short. Mile End Park is a linear park of about 32 hectares east of the Regent's Canal, built on land bombed in the Second World War, and its Green Bridge by Piers Gough carries it over the Mile End Road.
Springfield Park opened in 1905 and has formal gardens and conservation areas with views across Walthamstow Marshes, which give a soft, open background late in the day. On the river, Island Gardens looks across the Thames to the Greenwich view Canaletto painted. Choose whichever is nearest home, because a short journey is worth more at 33 weeks than a famous backdrop. Our Hackney portrait and Tower Hamlets portrait pages describe other spots.
Practical
A few East London details are worth knowing. West Ham Park has seven wheelchair-accessible entrances but no car park, and Forest Gate station has step-free access with lifts to all platforms. Wanstead Flats is part of Epping Forest, where the City of London Corporation requires a licence for commercial photography, so tell us early if you would like to be photographed there.
If the forecast turns or you simply feel tired on the day, the session can move indoors at home. If you would rather a plain backdrop and controlled light, the Northwood studio is warm and private, and you can make the trip there instead. Travel from Northwood to your part of East London is set out in your written quote, so the cost is clear whichever setting you choose. After the birth, a newborn session at home follows naturally.

Bring one outfit that shows the bump and one flowing dress. Solid colours photograph cleanly against Hainault's greens or a white living room wall.

Good to know
Between about 28 and 34 weeks. Choose the earlier part of that window if you want a longer walk through Lloyd Park's terraced gardens, and the later part for a shorter session at home when the bump is at its fullest.
Yes. Valentines Park surrounds Valentines Mansion and its historic gardens and has two cafés, so there is somewhere to rest between outfits. Tell us which entrance is nearest to you and the session starts there.
It is open and wide, but it is part of Epping Forest, and the City of London Corporation requires a licence for commercial photography there. Raise it early if you want the Flats, or choose West Ham Park or Forest Lane Park nearby.
For a bump session, Kaushik drives about 16 miles from Northwood to Hackney, about 17 to Walthamstow or Tower Hamlets, and 19 to 20 to Forest Gate, Newham or Redbridge. A maternity quote shows that travel in writing, beside the session price, before anything is booked.
Yes. Partners and older children are welcome, and pictures with a toddler can become the favourites. With small children we photograph the family set-ups first and take the quieter solo portraits afterwards.
Yes. A maternity session at 28 to 34 weeks and a newborn session in the first couple of weeks after the birth can be combined into one package, with both sessions at home in East London if you prefer.
Prices are given on request by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383, and depend on the session and the prints or albums you choose. The travel from Northwood is shown in the same written quote.
