The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed weddings across Surrey for over twenty five years, and couples in Leatherhead choose him for calm, natural coverage backed by more than a thousand weddings and five European Gold awards. We work quietly in the background, following the day as it unfolds rather than staging it, so your photographs feel real and never posed for the sake of it. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Leatherhead. When something goes awry, a late car or a missing buttonhole, we have seen it before and we quietly help sort it rather than adding to the stress. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Surrey and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Leatherhead
Leatherhead is a Surrey town in the Mole valley. A register office ceremony followed by a marquee party, or a church service and a country-house dinner, are both days we photograph often around Ashtead, Bookham and Fetcham and across Surrey. In Leatherhead and beyond, we have photographed ceremonies of every kind, and that experience means we anticipate each moment rather than chase it.
We read a room before we lift the camera, learning where the warmth is and letting the true character of your day come through in the images. We shoot loosely and instinctively, following the energy of the room, so the collection you receive moves at the same pace the day actually did. We treat every wedding as its own story, so nothing is forced into a formula and the pictures reflect your people, your setting and your mood.
Few journeys are simpler for us than the one to Leatherhead. Leatherhead is a Surrey town in the Mole valley, and we photograph weddings across the neighbouring Dorking and Reigate as readily as here. Venues we have photographed at near Leatherhead include The Drift Golf Club and Effingham Golf Club.
Leatherhead is a town on the River Mole in the Mole Valley district of Surrey. Leatherhead railway station, a junction served by Southern and South Western Railway, roughly 18 miles from London Waterloo. For portraits away from the celebration, Norbury Park, a wooded estate on the edge of Leatherhead crossed by the Mole Gap Trail works beautifully, and The Leatherhead Theatre, a local performing arts venue in the town centre adds a real sense of place.

What we offer
Your online gallery lands soon after the day, ready to share with family who could not be in the room.
We are there while you get ready, catching the small details and the calm before the day opens up.
We watch both the speaker and the table, so the laughter, the pauses and the quiet tears are all held.
Every kind of wedding
From the walk down the aisle to the final blessing, we follow the ceremony as it happens, never staging a thing and never breaking its rhythm. Whether the setting is a grand nave or a simple garden marquee, we work with the available light and the sightlines to record the ceremony honestly. Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony.
Long before the wedding, an engagement or pre-wedding shoot lets us get to know you, so the camera feels familiar by the time the day arrives. We love the in-between moments as much as the headlines, the flower girl asleep under a table, the grandparents on the dance floor, the quiet cigarette outside. We cover the details you have laboured over, the flowers, the table settings and the cake, then return our attention to the people who fill the room.

The whole celebration
For families marking the days ahead of the wedding, we can be there for the henna, the prayers and the shared meals that lead up to it. Multi part weddings ask for careful planning, and we agree the key moments across each gathering in advance so nothing important slips past unseen.
From the first cup of tea to the sparklers at the door, we keep the thread of the day intact so nothing feels disconnected in the final set. We cover the full arc of the day so that, looking back, you can walk through it in order rather than in scattered highlights.
Why choose us
From engagement shoots through to the finished album, we guide you through each stage with the ease that comes from having done this for well over two decades. Over a thousand couples have trusted us with their wedding, and that depth of experience is why we stay composed when the timing tightens or the weather turns.
We would rather arrive early and relaxed than cut it fine, so we set off in good time for weddings anywhere in Surrey and the counties beyond. From our studio it is an easy run out to Surrey, and we always allow generous time so we can settle in well before the first shot.

Where we travel
Rural lanes, tricky parking and out-of-the-way estates hold no fear for us; we have driven to weddings in every part of Surrey. Travel is simply part of the job for us, and a venue tucked away in Surrey is one we will reach comfortably with time to spare.

Good to know
For most weddings within a reasonable distance, travel is included and there is nothing extra to think about. For venues much further afield, or where an overnight stay is sensible, we may add a small contribution towards costs, which we will always agree with you beforehand. There are never any hidden fees.
Yes. We photograph weddings right across Surrey and the surrounding counties, and further afield throughout the UK. Wherever your ceremony and reception are, and whether they share a venue or sit miles apart, we plan the logistics with you in advance so the timeline holds and no coverage is lost travelling between them.
Yes, and we encourage it. We are happy to meet in person or over a video call to talk through your plans, your venues and the moments you most want captured. Meeting beforehand means you are working with familiar faces on the day itself, which helps everyone feel relaxed when the cameras come out.
You are free to print, share and post your images for personal use as much as you like, with no per-print fees. We simply ask that photos are not sold commercially or edited beyond recognition, and that we are credited if you share them publicly. We keep the copyright, which lets us show a few images in our portfolio.
We carry professional backup cameras, lenses and lighting to every wedding, and we photograph to dual memory cards so images are written twice as we go. We also hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which many venues ask to see. Nothing on a wedding day can be re-run, so this cover is not optional for us.
Awards are a reassurance rather than the whole story. Our five European Gold awards reflect years of consistent, careful work, but what matters most is that you love your own photographs. We are proud of the recognition; even so, your happiness with the finished images will always be the real measure for us.
Of course. A wedding runs on teamwork, so we liaise happily with your planner, venue coordinator, celebrant, videographer and band to keep the day flowing. We stay aware of the schedule and step back for key moments like the ceremony and speeches, so everyone gets what they need without treading on each other.
