Every tradition puts the authority somewhere different, and establishing where is the first thing we do. Sometimes it rests with an officiant whose hands set the tempo. Sometimes it rests with the congregation, and the room decides when a thing has finished. Sometimes it rests in a document, so the minute that counts is a signature rather than a movement. Misread that and you will photograph the flowers while the wedding happens behind you.

The consequences are unglamorous. With one family we are upright all day; with another we are seated on a floor for two hours and cannot rise. One will want the mehndi covered as a full event; another regards that evening as private and closed. The questions get asked weeks out, never mid-ceremony, and a plain no beats a lucky guess every time. Effingham Golf Club and The Drift Golf Club, both a few miles west of Leatherhead, host wedding receptions. How either room reads on the night is decided by the family, not the carpet.

One is available where the day genuinely divides, quoted separately rather than assumed into every booking. The test is simple: are two things happening in two rooms simultaneously. If not, a second camera largely repeats the first.

Do you know the order of rituals for each faith?+

Yes, though what helps more is knowing where a given sequence tends to slip. Order is half of it; the rest is which step habitually overruns, and which relative gets called to the front with no notice.

How many photographs will we receive from a multi-day wedding?+

More than you will want, which is why we edit hard. Several hundred finished frames per day covered is the usual outcome, rather than everything the cards held, and the set is cut so it can be viewed in one sitting.

Are you experienced with Tamil and South Indian weddings?+

Certainly. We photograph Tamil and South Indian weddings in full, from the muhurtham and the tying of the thali to the many customs surrounding them. Muhurtham times can fall early in the morning, so we agree the start with you and your priest and allow for the drive down from Northwood.

Do you photograph pre-wedding shoots or engagement sessions around Leatherhead?+

Yes. Norbury Park and the Mole Gap Trail suit an unhurried session, and the town centre serves for couples who prefer brick behind them to trees. Early evening in summer yields roughly an hour of usable light.
