The short answer
An award winning, London based Asian wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings in Rugby and across Warwickshire. When the baraat arrives with drums and dancing we are in the thick of it, moving with the crowd so the welcome looks and feels exactly as loud as it was. Multi day Asian weddings are a speciality in Rugby, from the pre wedding events and the baraat to the ceremony and the reception, whatever your tradition. We understand how much the day means, and we photograph it with the care it deserves. You can add a second photographer, a female photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Warwickshire and beyond, so wherever your celebration is held it is within reach.
Serving Rugby
Rugby is a Warwickshire town with country-house venues. We regularly photograph Asian weddings throughout Lutterworth, Daventry and Hinckley and the surrounding part of Warwickshire. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham reaches its heart as the thali is tied, and we are in position for that single, defining second.
Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own wedding. We anticipate each ritual, whatever the tradition, so the key moments are never missed. We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the glances as well as the rituals.
We are often in Rugby for Asian weddings, and from London the area, taking in Lutterworth, Daventry and Hinckley, is an easy journey. Rugby is a Warwickshire town with country-house venues. We also photograph in nearby Nuneaton and Leamington Spa. Close to Rugby, we have worked at venues including Ashton Lodge Country House and Bourton Hall.
Rugby is a Warwickshire market town famous as the birthplace of rugby football at Rugby School in 1823. Rugby railway station is on the West Coast Main Line with connections to London Euston and Birmingham, and the M6, M1 and M45 are nearby. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Caldecott Park, a landscaped Victorian park in the centre of Rugby, with Rugby School, birthplace of the game of rugby football close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
When two cultures share a single celebration, we photograph both with equal weight and let the day tell its own blended story.
We photograph the signing, the vows and the quiet words between families with the care the ceremony calls for.
Over twenty-five years of Asian weddings mean we rarely meet a ritual or a room we have not photographed before.
Every tradition
For Gujarati families we know the hastamelap and the four mangal pheras and photograph each as you keep it. For Sikh couples, the Anand Karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara are the heart of the day, photographed with the calm the Guru Granth Sahib deserves. At a Sikh wedding the exchange of garlands and the palla placed in the couple's hands begin the Anand Karaj, and we follow from the very first hymn.
We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. We photograph the bridal and groom's preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye.

The whole celebration
We arrive in good time for each pre-wedding event and stay until the celebrations wind down. We tailor the hours to your events, whether it is one key day or a long weekend of celebrations.
We move with the day rather than against it, following the ceremony into the meal and the meal into the dancing without ever pulling you out of the moment. We document the grand moments and the quiet ones in between, so nothing is lost.
Why choose us
Our experience runs deep across Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Punjabi, Muslim and Tamil weddings. We back up every image on the day as we shoot, carry spare equipment to each event, and have never once left a family without their photographs.
From our London base, Rugby and the rest of Warwickshire are an easy, familiar journey. We are based in London and think nothing of the drive across Warwickshire, so travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work.

Where we travel
We photograph across Warwickshire regularly, and travelling to Rugby is second nature. Distance rarely enters our thinking; we plan the route, allow for the traffic and arrive in good time wherever your events are held.

Good to know
We are. We understand the significance of the muhurtham timing and the tying of the thali, along with the surrounding customs that make a Tamil ceremony distinct. This familiarity means we are ready at the right moment, so the images reflect the true weight of each ritual.
We would love to. The mehndi, the haldi or pithi, and the sangeet in Rugby often hold the warmest and most natural moments, and we are happy to cover them alongside the wedding. Many families ask us to follow the whole celebration from the very first event to the last.
Yes. We regularly work in the larger banqueting halls that host Asian weddings, and we are happy to cover an event at a venue in Rugby. We like to know the room in advance where possible, so we can plan for the lighting and the scale of the day.
Yes. We photograph the nikah and walima with care for the customs of the day, working discreetly during the signing of the contract and the exchange of vows. Where the celebration is segregated, we can arrange a female photographer so guests feel entirely comfortable throughout.
Yes. The haldi or pithi is a warm, joyful morning ritual where turmeric is applied to the couple, and it makes for wonderfully candid, colourful photographs. We keep back a little to let the family enjoy the fun freely, stepping in close only when the moment invites it.
Yes. Sikh weddings in Rugby are familiar ground for us. We photograph the Anand Karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara with the calm the Guru Granth Sahib deserves, and we know the milni and the reception around it.
Absolutely. We regularly cover the mehndi, the sangeet, the haldi, the ceremony and the reception across two or three days in Rugby, and we bring additional photographers for the largest celebrations so that no event, from the baraat to the last dance, is ever missed.
