The gardens open straight off the High Street, so the walk in is short, which matters when one adult is pushing a pram and another is carrying a toddler who wants down.
We photograph the full group in the first fifteen minutes, while everyone is still willing, then break it into pairs. Grandparents get their own frames early rather than at the end, when the children have run out of goodwill and the light has usually turned.

…With 5 children aged between 2 and 7, the youngest of whom had just been woken up when we arrived and subsequently mainly wanted Mummy cuddles, it was very lucky for us that he was also very personable, and good at getting the little ones (and adults!) to smile/laugh naturally while looking at the camera!

Plan for an hour. In poor weather we move the whole booking indoors instead of shortening it, because a cold family photographs as a cold family and no amount of editing undoes that. Sessions booked early in the day generally go better than anything scheduled after a missed nap.
You receive the group frames, the pairs and the loose ones of the children in a single edited set, sized both for a large print and for sending round to relatives, with none of it held back.

The first few weeks are ideal, when newborns sleep deeply and curl up easily. Get in touch while you are pregnant and we will pencil in a date near your due date, then adjust once baby arrives.
It is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Tears, squirming and sudden sleepiness are expected, so we just stop, help settle your little one and pick up where we left off. Because we are never in a rush, a grizzly few minutes seldom shows in the final set.
You can indeed. One option follows your baby across the first year: newborn, sitting up, first steps and a cake smash on their first birthday. Seeing those twelve months side by side shows just how fast a baby grows.
Your baby gets a small cake of their own to celebrate turning one, and is free to dig in. We capture the build-up, the glorious mess and the sheer delight as it unfolds. It is one of the happiest sessions we run.
