An outdoor session is scheduled for an hour, which in practice means about forty minutes of photographs and twenty of biscuits, shoelaces and negotiation. Nobody has to stand in a line or say cheese, and children who refuse to look at us are usually better pictures than the ones who comply.
The full edited set is delivered at once, sized for prints and for phones, with nothing held back. Where three generations are present we also take each pairing separately, since those are the frames people ask for years later.

A newborn who is genuinely unsettled goes straight back to a parent's arms. We simply wait, because the pictures taken once a baby has calmed are always better. For a cake smash, choose a firm sponge with thick buttercream, which photographs better than a soft or cream-filled cake and holds together while a one-year-old digs in.

With children in tow, a short walk from the car and room to run matter more than a grand view, and Town Park, with its playground and the New River Loop along its southern edge, is close to Enfield Town. - New River Loop and Town Park. The New River, built to carry water to London from Hertfordshire, runs through Enfield, and its bypassed loop encircles the town centre through Enfield Town Park. 1
- North Enfield Recreation Ground on Clay Hill (EN2 0DS) was bought by Enfield UDC in 1907 as Tucker's Field, a former Enfield Spartans football ground, and has a playground, football pitches and tennis courts. 2
- Trent Country Park. Trent Park, reached from Oakwood and Cockfosters Underground stations, covers about 320 hectares and has been open to the public as Trent Country Park since 1973. 3

There is no need. Toddlers keep a photographer on their toes, and we love that, so we never demand stillness or forced smiles. We play and let them lead, and the unplanned moments are often the ones parents like best.
Prints, framed wall art, canvases and hand-finished albums are all available, designed around the photographs you like most. After the session you browse an edited gallery online and choose the pieces for your home.
Crying is normal, and it causes no problem at all. Tears, wriggles and sudden naps are expected, and we simply pause, settle baby and carry on. Patience with little ones means a fussy start rarely affects the lovely images we come away with.
Yes. The A10 Great Cambridge Road runs through the borough, which makes the drive over predictable and means we arrive with everything needed rather than depending on what is at your end. Trent Park makes a good meeting point, though a garden or your own street works perfectly well if the walking is the difficult part. Southgate, Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill are covered too.
Yes, and please mention it when booking, because it changes where we stand. If walking any distance is hard, we choose ground near where the cars are left instead of heading into the middle of Trent Park, and take the three-generation frames first, while the youngest child is still interested in us. Benches and chairs get used deliberately here, not as a last resort.

A family session in Enfield is mostly a question of how far the smallest child has to walk before anything is photographed, and Trent Park is big enough that the answer wants deciding beforehand rather than discovering on the day. Its three surfaces are not equal under a pram. Made paths take wheels in any weather. Open grass is fine in a dry spell and heavy for days after rain. The ground beside the lakes churns first and dries last, which is exactly where a four-year-old will want to go. Where a pushchair is coming, or a grandparent who would rather not cross a field, we work within a short radius of the parked cars and move outward only if everyone is enjoying it. Driving here is the sane option anyway. Arriving with car seats, a bag and a scooter is far easier by road than with a change of trains. Order matters more than place. Small children hand over roughly twenty minutes of real interest and then start negotiating, so the picture with everybody in it is made first, the adults and grandparents in pairs come next, and the unposed running-about frames are left to the end, when nobody minds what anyone is doing. In genuinely bad weather the Northwood room wins outright: no mud, no wind, a warm floor, and a toddler stays interested indoors considerably longer than in a cold meadow.
