Moving between the two costs more of the day than couples expect, so we would fix the outdoor window early rather than argue it while relatives wait.
Some guests would drive in on the A10 Great Cambridge Road and others take the train from Liverpool Street to Enfield Town, while relatives staying elsewhere add their own timings to the morning. That matters photographically: a baraat cannot be covered properly while half of it is still parking. We would sooner know the realistic arrival spread than the printed one, and build the first hour around what actually happens.

The ceremony, ritual by ritual
A mandap is scaffolding before it is a backdrop. Four posts, a canopy overhead, and a priest, the couple and two sets of parents inside a footprint no bigger than a box room. The canopy kills the light coming down; the posts sit exactly where you would want to stand. We work out our two or three viable positions before anyone sits, because once the families settle in there is no crossing the floor. Havan complicates it further: an open flame at floor level, burning warm, under daylight coming sideways through windows.
Saptapadi walks the same circuit repeatedly, and each lap risks looking identical to the one before. We shift height, side and lens between rounds so that the sequence carries momentum instead of repeating itself. Elsewhere the problem inverts. Kanyadaan lasts as long as it lasts, but sindoor happens faster than most people can look up, and the mangalsutra follows almost as quickly. Neither survives a request for a repeat. We cover them by choosing a spot early and refusing to leave it.
