When there is time for couple portraits, Trent Park, a large country park with woodland, lakes and open meadows is a favourite, and Forty Hall, a Jacobean manor house set in parkland makes a memorable setting.

We work quietly around the imam so the nikah is never disturbed. From the ijab-e-qubool to the dua, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely. We photograph the signing of the nikah-nama by the couple and their witnesses with quiet attention.

The walima is the joyful feast hosted by the groom's family, and we cover it in full. The mehndi night is full of colour, music and dancing, and often holds the warmest moments of all. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration.
