We want a documentary feel rather than lots of stiff posing. Is that how you work?+

It is. Our style is documentary at heart, so most of the day we observe and let things unfold, from the duas before the baraat to the emotion of the rukhsati. We will still guide a short set of couple portraits and family groups, because those matter too, but the bulk of your gallery will be real moments rather than arranged ones.

What happens with the baraat when the groom's procession arrives with drums and crowds?+

The baraat is one of the high-energy moments of the day, so we position ourselves to catch both the groom's arrival and the family waiting to receive him. We work amid the dhol, the flowers and the crowd without slowing anyone down, and we make sure the meeting of the two sides and the garlanding are all recorded as they happen.

We are having a mehndi at home the night before. Will you cover a smaller, informal event like that?+

Yes, mehndi and dholki nights are some of our favourite events to photograph because the mood is relaxed and full of colour. Whether it is a garden marquee or a family living room, we work with the light we are given and stay light on our feet so the singing, the henna and the dancing feel natural, not posed.

Can you photograph a mixed-culture Muslim wedding?+

Absolutely. Mixed-culture celebrations in London are something we photograph often. We are comfortable blending cultural events like the mehndi and the baraat with the nikah, and we cover fusion and mixed-faith weddings with real care, respecting what matters to each family throughout.
