A baraat that reaches the walima door compresses forty people into it, and we therefore work from inside looking outward instead of retreating ahead of the crowd. Then speeches, food, and the family portraits that only occur because somebody chased them. Rukhsati comes last, at a car, generally after dark, and nobody wants that performed twice.
