Brief, quiet and unrepeatable, the nikah tends to finish before a room has quite registered that it began. We are set, exposed and on the spot we mean to hold well beforehand, working within whatever restrictions apply during the ceremony, and the imam, not our own assumptions, decides what those are. If the room is divided, camera positions are agreed months earlier and never at the door.
Signing is a different problem: a pen, a document and several heads leaning in over it, all at table height in whatever light the room happens to have. We would rather light that properly than rescue it later. The walima is another kind of job entirely, a lit event with its own stage, and the useful question there is who controls that lighting and whether they will take a request. A mehndi held days earlier runs to a clock of its own.
