Newborn and family photography in Kentish Town

  • Included in the session: A relaxed session of usually about an hour, led by the children's mood, with a private online gallery afterwards and the option of prints, framed wall art or a hand-finished album.
  • Where we photograph in Kentish Town: Your home or garden, or a park or open space such as Hampstead Heath or Parliament Hill. We travel from Northwood, about 12 miles away. Newborn sessions can be photographed at your home, or at the Northwood studio if you prefer.
  • Booking: Call 07956 505383, send a WhatsApp message to the same number, or use the enquiry form on this page.

We start with the full family photograph while everyone is clean and cooperative, then move to smaller groupings and finally the loose, running shots on the slopes. Parents are given a few frames on their own too, which rarely happens once children arrive.

Pick your favourite family photos from an online gallery at whatever pace suits you. Each selected image is retouched gently and delivered for screens and print, and albums, framed prints and canvases can be ordered.

In one word "AWESOME" We arranged a family photo shoot for six, four children and two adults.. the whole family was made to feel very comfortable (even allowing a change of clothes from smart to casual) and the children although apprehensive at first (being children) were literally in hysterics by the time we left... would definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND and use again when everyones a little older...

Google review, 2016

Fantastic photographer . Relaxed atmosphere and even made my young children laugh and look at the camera ( which they normally don’t do ) . Amazing results ! Would highly recommend.

Google review, 2023

…With 5 children aged between 2 and 7, the youngest of whom had just been woken up when we arrived and subsequently mainly wanted Mummy cuddles, it was very lucky for us that he was also very personable, and good at getting the little ones (and adults!) to smile/laugh naturally while looking at the camera!

Why choose us

Patience with little ones in Kentish Town

What you get is your family as it really is, relaxed and real rather than posed and stiff. Outdoor sessions use soft natural light and the parks and green spaces your family already enjoys.

Everyone is photographed together first, then in smaller groups and each child alone, so no combination is missed. Choose from maternity, newborn, cake smash and milestone sessions, or a classic portrait of the whole extended family.

Family Photographer in Kentish Town, FAQs

Favourites chosen in the online gallery can be ordered as single prints, framed prints, canvases or albums. You also receive digital files in web and print versions. A skyline family portrait from Parliament Hill can make a striking large print, and an album keeps a whole session together.

Get in touch during pregnancy with your due date, since sessions are booked in advance and an early conversation makes planning easier. We will talk through timing and what to bring when you call.

Give us a call or message the moment you know. Off days and sudden bugs come with babies and toddlers, and rearranging is always kinder than photographing an upset child. We will agree a new date that fits your family's week.

That is much gentler than an outdoor setting for a very young baby.

Guides

Family guides for Kentish Town

Journal reading to help families plan a session in Kentish Town.

Kentish Town families have Hampstead Heath on their doorstep, which is a wonderful place for a family session if it is planned properly. The Heath covers 320 hectares, so the session should focus on one area rather than wander. Parliament Hill, with its views across the London skyline, gives a big-sky group picture that grandparents will want framed. Professional photography on the Heath needs permission from the City of London; its online licence covers two-hour weekday sessions for small groups using handheld equipment, so a family session there is booked on a weekday and kept relaxed and compact. Two hours is in fact a comfortable span for young children. Take the full family photograph early, before anyone gets tired or grass-stained, and then let the children run on the slopes while the camera follows. The hill is open and exposed, so on windy days hair blows across faces; tie long hair back or embrace it. Dress in soft, coordinated colours that do not compete with the skyline. Sessions there, as outdoors, go at the children's pace.
