For Hanwell

Capturing your family in Hanwell

  • Included in the session: About an hour in front of the camera, unhurried and patient with little ones, followed by an online gallery; favourites can become fine-art prints, framed pieces or an album.
  • Studio or on location: Either the Northwood studio, which works whatever the weather, or a park or garden within about 20 miles.
  • Getting to the studio: Hanwell is about 7 miles from the Northwood studio as the crow flies, and the studio is two minutes' walk from Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line.
  • How to book: Use the form at the end of this page, or call or WhatsApp 07956 505383; sessions are booked in advance so the studio is ready when you arrive.

The session runs at the children's pace. The full family picture is taken early, before attention starts to wander, and the session then relaxes into smaller groups, sibling frames and candid moments, with breaks for feeds and snacks as needed.

Afterwards your Hanwell family browses the online gallery together and chooses favourites with no sales pressure. Files are delivered both web-ready and print-ready, and albums, frames, canvases and prints can be ordered for the home or as presents for relatives near and far.

I went into the photoshoot with reservations, as I wasn’t sure how well my youngest child (3 years) would be in a photoshoot situation. As soon as walking into the shoot and seeing how Kaushik interacted with the little ones, I was immediately put at ease. He amazingly kept my child smiling and laughing for an hour, where I can’t seem to manage to do for 30 seconds!

Me and my family are coming to this studio since last year to have our Christmas picture taken. We've been this year and for sure we are gonna come next year!!!

Georgiana C., Google review, 2015

Me and my family had a photo shoot here and I must say Kaushik did a fantastic job. We went to review the photos and they were really good. We will treasure these memories forever.

Family Photographer in Hanwell, FAQs

Babies often cry, so the session just stops until they are settled again. Family sessions run at the children's pace, with time for feeding, changing and cuddles. The studio's warmth and quiet help babies settle, which is why it is often the better choice over a park near Hanwell for very young children.

Ask the studio about planning a series of sessions across the first year, for example as a newborn, when your baby can sit, and around the first birthday. The options available, along with prices, are explained on request by phone or WhatsApp, so you can choose what works for your family.

Once favourites are picked in your online gallery, prints, frames, canvases and albums are available to order. A family album is a lovely way to keep a whole session together, while a canvas suits a large wall. You also receive files ready for screen and for printing at home.

Yes, and those first pictures of brothers and sisters with the baby are often the ones families cherish most. Older siblings are photographed first, while they are still keen, then gently introduced to holding or sitting beside the baby with an adult close by. The studio, about 7 miles from Hanwell, keeps the baby warm throughout.

Your photos are shared in an online gallery after the session, and you choose favourites without being rushed. Your selected pictures are gently retouched and supplied as files for screens and for printing. If you need them for a birthday, card or event, let the studio know when booking.

Brent Lodge Park sits at the heart of Hanwell, and for a family with young children it is hard to beat as a setting. Known locally as the Bunny Park, it has the small Hanwell Zoo, a maze of two thousand yews, a café and a play area, which means there is a natural reward waiting at the end of the posed pictures and somewhere warm for a quick snack in between. The park is part of the wider Brent River Park, which follows the river down from Perivale, so there are open meadows nearby for a family group with space around it. Children are far more cooperative before they have seen the animals than after, so take the formal family frame first, then let the visit to the zoo provide the relaxed, candid pictures. The yew maze photographs beautifully but can swallow a toddler in seconds, so keep an adult at each end. Dress the family in soft, complementary colours; green is the dominant backdrop here, so avoid dressing everyone in it. Newborns and very young babies are usually better photographed in the warmth and quiet of the studio, which is about 7 miles from Hanwell at The Broadway in Northwood Hills, with parking close by and opening every day, from 10:30 Monday to Saturday and from 13:00 on Sunday.
