The order is fixed in advance. Everyone together comes first, then the children alone, then whichever pairs you want, then whatever the youngest is willing to give. If a bench is needed, we choose it before the session rather than during it.
Everybody in the group gets the identical edited gallery: full resolution for framing, plus smaller copies that email without argument. The one thing we do to order is a plain version of the group frame, for relatives who want it on a wall.

We had a family shoot at the studio, Kaushik took some wonderful photos. He was excellent with the kids and was very good at making them smile naturally, the end results were brilliant. We purchased a canvas and 2 further large framed photos. All completed on time and to perfection. Very pleased.

We photograph outdoors in soft, natural light, using parks and green spaces your family already loves. Tears, wriggles and a nap in the middle of the session are all part of photographing small children, and we simply work around them.
A cake smash needs a cake, an outfit you do not mind ruining and a towel. The mess itself is dealt with at this end. For maternity pictures, the last few weeks before the due date usually show the bump clearly while standing and sitting still feel comfortable.

Most newborns are at their sleepiest in the first two weeks, which makes that the easiest window for posing them. Contacting us before the birth lets us pencil in a provisional date around your due date, then confirm it once the baby has arrived.

At under two miles from the studio, Ruislip is close enough that we do not charge travel for a family session at your home or in a local park.
Ruislip is a suburb in the London Borough of Hillingdon with Ruislip Woods on its doorstep, the largest block of ancient semi-natural woodland in Greater London. Ruislip station has both Metropolitan and Piccadilly line trains, and West Ruislip station serves the Central line, handy for grandparents coming out from town. For an outdoor family session we would suggest Ruislip Lido, where the Ruislip Lido Railway runs through the woods from Woody Bay station by the beach to Willow Lawn by the car parks; Hillingdon Council requires permission for professional photos there, which we would arrange beforehand.

Ruislip Lido offers a family two things that seldom occur together: a sandy beach and a miniature railway. The railway is the more useful of the pair. Small children spend their willingness to be photographed long before the adults run out of ideas, and a ride buys back a genuine stretch of interest during which nobody has to be persuaded to look anywhere in particular. So the running order is fixed by that rather than by us: the frame that includes everybody happens right away, before the youngest member of the party stops finding this fun, and the loose frames around the train and the shoreline come afterwards. Dry sand is the practical catch. A pram wheel sinks into it, a stick sinks into it, and anyone who needs a firm surface underfoot stays on the made path while the rest of the family walks back to them whenever a picture has to include everyone. Grandparents are photographed seated, on a bench picked out before we begin rather than hunted for once somebody is tired. The beach also carries no shade whatsoever, which rules out the hours around noon in summer far more firmly than the woods ever would. Wind is the other thing the reservoir supplies generously, and it undoes hair faster than anyone expects. On a raw day, or with a baby in the group who needs feeding somewhere warm, we do the whole thing in Northwood and lose none of it.

At the studio
Our Northwood studio, for Ruislip families on wet days
You will find the studio at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, with Northwood Hills on the Metropolitan line as the nearest station. Family sittings there are booked ahead, and we also print, frame, restore and scan older family photographs in house. The studio opens Monday to Saturday 10:30 to 18:00 and Sunday 13:00 to 18:00, so a weekend sitting is easy to fit around children's clubs.
