Very. With twenty-five years behind the lens and thousands of sessions, we have photographed dogs, cats, horses and small pets of every age and temperament, many of them from Greater London. That experience brings a calm, quick and gentle presence that puts even anxious animals at ease. This applies across Ruislip and Ickenham, Northwood and Hillingdon.

Yes. Ruislip and the rest of the borough are on our regular round, and we come to wherever the animal is settled. Cats and rabbits are always done at home. Dogs are usually photographed somewhere they already know, which in Ruislip tends to mean Ruislip Woods or the paths beside the lido, so nothing about the day is strange to them.

Because the ground gets chosen for the animal. Ruislip Woods is dark trunks over dark leaf litter, which swallows a black dog whole, so for a dark coat we move to the paler sand and open paths by the lido instead. An older or anxious dog stays on the level paths near an entrance, and the whole thing is kept brief.

Roughly an hour on site, of which the photography is perhaps half. Most dogs give real cooperation for about twenty minutes, so we work in bursts with proper breaks and call it a day on the dog's terms rather than ours. Older dogs and anything anxious get shorter sessions, which nearly always produces better pictures than pressing on.

Absolutely. Dark coats are wonderful to work with, and long experience has taught us precisely how to light a black cat or dog so the eyes and every strand of fur show clearly. Pets from Greater London in pale or white coats get exactly the same attention. Outdoors in Ruislip we would head for Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve, the largest area of ancient woodland in Greater London.
