Dogs are most of this work and Eastcote House Gardens takes them, walled ground for the nervous and open green for the ones that need to run. Cats, rabbits and the smaller pets are done at home instead, and Ruislip Manor, Rayners Lane and Northwood Hills sit inside the same travelling area, so we come out to those as well.
Bring the food they genuinely care about rather than the daily biscuit. The final ten frames of any session are bought with something better than usual, and a dog that has already switched off will not come back for anything ordinary once the novelty has worn off.

Most of a session is over inside the first half hour, because that is about how long a dog stays interested in a stranger holding a camera. We stay on foot, low down, and let the animal set the speed.
You get the frames where it looks like itself rather than arranged, colour corrected, with any safety lead painted out afterwards so the picture does not advertise it. Nothing about the animal itself is altered, since a tidied dog stops looking like your dog.

Yes. We are based in Northwood, HA6, and cover Eastcote along with Ruislip Manor, Rayners Lane and Northwood Hills on the same basis. For pets that is usually the right way round anyway. An animal photographed at home, or on ground it walks daily, behaves far better than one taken somewhere unfamiliar an hour beforehand.
Almost nothing. Walking an excitable dog beforehand helps it settle, and a pet that has not just eaten tends to work harder for treats. Bring a beloved toy along to Greater London, and let your animal be itself. The patience, play and timing are all ours to manage. We cover Eastcote and nearby Ruislip Manor, Rayners Lane and Northwood Hills.
More so, if anything. Older animals hold still, which is the hard part with a young dog. Eastcote House Gardens suits them because the enclosed section is compact, so a stiff dog is not asked to cover ground to reach a background. We photograph from their eye level instead of standing over them, and stop the moment interest goes.
We love to. Puppies and kittens change so quickly, and a session near Greater London preserves those precious first weeks. We keep everything soft and playful, working in short bursts and letting the little one wander, so its character shines through in every frame. Eastcote Underground station serves both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines in Zone 5. A boundary is worth more than acreage for most dogs, and the walled garden supplies one without a lead. Inside it, a dog that would otherwise be handled on a line can be let go, and the frames that come off a loose animal are not the frames you get from a controlled one. Ears go forward, the mouth relaxes, and the head turns towards things rather than back towards the handler. Eastcote House Gardens carries both options on one site: enclosure where it helps, open green where the animal needs to move properly and the pictures want some run in them. Coat colour decides which of the two we start in. Brick and mature planting make a dark, warm surround, and a black or dark brindle coat set against it collapses into a silhouette with nothing separating shoulder from background. Those dogs do far better on the open ground under bright overcast, where light arrives from every direction and picks out the texture along the spine and ears. Pale and red coats have the opposite trouble in full sun and belong among the walls, where everything is softer. Traffic sets the running order for anything nervous. Field End Road and its parade are busy with people and doors, which is the wrong place to begin with an anxious animal. We start on the quiet ground and work outward only if it settles. Older dogs never need the outward part at all: short distances, a low camera, and plenty of stopping.
