Edgware is suburb rather than open country, and for a dog session that comes down to what sits on the far side of the fence. Roads are close to most usable ground here, so anything off lead happens only where the enclosure is genuine, and a long line is the default everywhere else. It trails outside the frame and is removed later, which costs a few minutes of editing and buys the freedom to let an animal move. Canons Park is the obvious choice, and a designed landscape helps for an unglamorous reason: made paths keep their surface, so a session does not finish with a soaked, mud heavy dog half an hour before the best light arrives. Both also do better somewhere already comfortable, the garden, the doorstep, the pavement walked every day, than in a spot chosen for how well it photographs.
