Pet sessions cover Stanmore's open spaces and, for animals better off indoors, your own home or the Northwood room. Dogs make up the bulk of this work, though cats, rabbits and smaller pets are photographed as well, and Canons Park, Wealdstone and Bushey come under the same arrangement.
One thing gets settled beforehand: whether yours can safely be let off on the ground we are heading for. If not, a long line comes with us. It keeps the dog safe, it keeps the frames honest, and it disappears at the editing stage, so nothing whatever is lost by using one.

…With 5 children aged between 2 and 7, the youngest of whom had just been woken up when we arrived and subsequently mainly wanted Mummy cuddles, it was very lucky for us that he was also very personable, and good at getting the little ones (and adults!) to smile/laugh naturally while looking at the camera!
I was nervous about how my 2 year old would react, but we had a great photo session! Kaushik had plenty of props to keep my son entertained, laughing, and happily posing.Afterward, he was incredibly patient as we went through every single photo to pick our favorites, even though we kept changing our minds. I highly recommend his service and will definitely be back once my second baby is born!

Sessions are deliberately brief and finish when the dog is done, not when a clock says so. The camera comes down to chest level on the animal rather than the animal being coaxed upwards, which is most of what separates a portrait from a snapshot. A squeaky toy stays in the bag until the one moment it is needed.
Older or anxious pets are photographed at their own address, on ground that asks nothing new of them. You see a private gallery afterwards, and the frames you pick are finished individually.

Absolutely. Dark coats are wonderful to work with, and the lighting is arranged so the eyes and every strand of fur on a black cat or dog show clearly. White and pale coats get equal care, so the fur keeps its detail instead of glaring.

At the studio
Studio sessions for Stanmore
Our studio at 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU is about 5 miles from Stanmore if an indoor session suits your pet better. Pets can be photographed there by appointment, and the studio also handles printing, framing, restoration and scanning of older photographs. Passport and ID photos can be done at the studio as well. Pets and their owners can visit Monday to Saturday from 10:30 to 18:00, and on Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00.
Pet sessions are photographed by Kaushik Bathia, FBIPP and FMPA, who has worked from the Northwood studio since opening it in 2001.
