The short answer

Your Asian wedding photographer in Stanmore, at a glance

Kaushik Bathia has photographed Asian weddings across Greater London for over twenty five years, and couples in Stanmore choose him for calm, knowledgeable coverage of every tradition, backed by five European Gold awards. We move quietly through the day, capturing the real moments rather than staging them. We photograph every Asian wedding tradition in Stanmore, from the Hindu mandap and pheras to the Sikh Anand Karaj, the Muslim nikah and the Tamil muhurtham, across multi day celebrations. We have worked in temples, gurdwaras and mosques the length of the country, and that range means your venue and its customs hold no surprises for us. A second photographer, a female photographer for segregated events and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Greater London and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.

Serving Stanmore

Telling your Asian wedding story in Stanmore

Stanmore is a leafy north-west London suburb close to grand venues. We know the venues of London and the surrounding area well, and move easily between the ceremony and reception across Edgware, Harrow Weald and Belmont. The garland exchange, when bride and groom raise the jaimala over one another, releases the first great cheer of the day, and we catch it as it breaks.

We read the rhythm of an Asian celebration and are always in the right place at the right time. We capture the details too, the flowers, the jewellery, the mandap and the mehndi, that make your day yours. We cover both families equally, making sure the groom's side and the bride's side each come away with a full record of their own people and their own moments.

Stanmore is a leafy north-west London suburb close to grand venues, and from London it is an easy and familiar journey for us, whatever the tradition or the venue. We photograph in neighbouring Pinner and Ealing just as often. Stanmore and the towns around it offer venues such as Bentley Priory Museum and The Hive London, all familiar to us.

Stanmore is a leafy suburb in the London Borough of Harrow with several nature reserves and open spaces. Stanmore station is the northern terminus of the Jubilee line. We often take couples to Stanmore Country Park, known for its views across London for a few quiet portraits, and Bentley Priory, an 18th century estate that was the headquarters of RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain is a lovely backdrop nearby.

Every tradition

The Ceremony, Captured as It Truly Unfolds

For Sikh couples, the Anand Karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara are the heart of the day, photographed with the calm the Guru Granth Sahib deserves. We work in the background of the priest, the granthi or the imam, reading their rhythm so the ceremony flows without a photographer in the way. At the gurdwara, the couple's walk around the Guru Granth Sahib during each laav is captured with reverence.

For Gujarati families the garba and raas fill an evening with circling colour and movement, and we love following the dandiya sticks and the swirling skirts. The bhangra and the dancing carry the reception late into the night, and we stay for all of it. From the turmeric of the haldi to the music of the sangeet, the events set the tone for the wedding.

The whole celebration

Your celebration in Stanmore, day by day

We arrive in good time for each pre-wedding event and stay until the celebrations wind down. A garba fills the room with movement, and we photograph the sway of it without asking anyone to pause, letting the colour and the circles of dancing lead the frame.

The reception has its own tempo, softer at first and then loud, and we read that shift so the speeches, the first dance and the late-night floor all feel complete. Just fifteen minutes is enough for a handful of timeless portraits near your venue.

Why choose us

An Asian wedding photographer covering Stanmore

A thousand weddings in, we still find every celebration unique, and photograph it that way. Twenty-five years in, we still prepare for each wedding as though it were our first, learning your family's particular customs before we lift a camera.

We photograph across Edgware, Harrow Weald and Belmont regularly, and returning to the county for a wedding feels less like travel and more like familiar ground. From London we reach Stanmore easily, and we know the venues of Greater London well.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Stanmore, frequently asked questions

Absolutely. The baraat is one of our favourite parts of any Stanmore celebration. We photograph the dhol, the dancing and the groom's arrival, and the milni when the two families meet, capturing all of its energy.

We are. The muhurtham, the tying of the thali and the many other rituals of a Tamil or South Indian wedding are all part of our work, and we understand their early timings and the order in which they unfold.

We can. For weddings in Stanmore where the ladies' side is kept private, or where a female photographer is preferred for the bridal preparations, we will arrange one as part of your coverage. Please mention this when you enquire so we can plan the team around your needs.

You will receive a small preview soon after the day, followed by your full edited gallery. We then design a hand-finished album that holds the whole story of your celebration.

Yes, and we enjoy the variety a fusion day brings. Whether you are combining a Hindu ceremony with a civil service, or a Sikh and Muslim family coming together, we respect the customs of each side. We plan the timeline carefully so both traditions are given equal attention.

You will receive a preview gallery of favourites soon after the day, with your full edited collection following once we have worked carefully through every event. Multi-day Asian weddings produce a large number of images, so we take the time needed to edit them to a consistent, high standard.

We have photographed Asian weddings for more than 25 years, across over a thousand celebrations of every tradition, and that experience shows in how calmly we work. We know the rituals, we respect each faith, and our documentary style gives you honest photographs that feel like your day, not a template.
