Which authority a room defers to differs between families, so that gets established first of all. It dictates where a lens is allowed to sit and how long it must sit there. Sometimes the fire and the priest beside it. Sometimes a book, in which case nobody carrying a camera moves at all until the service ends. Neither is open to negotiation, and both are better understood a month out.

So we ask, we listen, and we shoot to whatever constraint arrives. Should a nikah carry the day, the usable minutes are few and nearly every one of them seated. Where the weight lands on pheras instead, a handful of movements repeat and the task turns into making them look unalike. A garba reduces the whole problem to movement in poor light. Always. Two bodies carried, another spare, doubled-up lenses at the focal lengths that count, plus a spare flash, batteries and cards. Every card records twice while shooting, and before the night ends the day has been copied to a second drive.

We ask first, and the reply settles it. Buildings like that impose their own terms on camera position, on flash, and on who stands where, none of which is ours to argue about. Asking weeks beforehand keeps all of it off the morning itself.
