…Kaushik is incredibly talented, artistic, and truly gifted with a photographer’s vision. He knows exactly what he wants each frame to look like and how to get the best out of his subjects. Honestly, there were moments during the shoot when I’d wonder, “What is he making me do?” – but when I saw the final shots, I was blown away. Every image looked beautiful, intentional, and natural.

Amrita A., Google review, 2025

…Kaushik's work is fantastic and he took so much stress out of our special day. He and his team are highly professional, fun and friendly and work with you to capture the shots that you want. He captured some amazing moments of both us and our guests, some natural, some posed but all truly wonderful. We were blown away by our albums and videos and have no hesitation in recommending him to our family and friends.

Reesha G., Google review, 2015

Where the communities are

Rayners Lane, Kenton, Alperton and Ealing Road: the census picture

The London Borough of Harrow has the highest Hindu share of population in England and Wales, 25.8% at the 2021 census, and is described as the most religiously diverse local authority area in the UK. Within it, Rayners Lane has one of London's largest Tamil communities, and 39.9% of its ward residents identified as Hindu in 2021, the highest share of any Harrow ward. In West Harrow, 36.3% identified as Asian or Asian British.

Across the border in Brent, Indian was Alperton's largest ethnic group at 42% in 2011, and Gujarati the most spoken language after English. Ealing Road in Wembley is known for its jewellery market run by the local Indian community, and Kenton, which straddles Harrow and Brent, has a large population of Indian descent and several Hindu temples. On the Hillingdon side, Yeading ward's 2011 census showed Islam at 18.3%, Sikhism at 14.1% and Hinduism at 11.8%.

Several days

Planning a mehndi in Pinner, a ceremony in Wembley and a reception in Hayes

An Asian wedding here can easily move between several places. The mehndi or sangeet might be at a family home in Pinner or Stanmore, the religious ceremony at a mandir, gurdwara or hall in Wembley or Kenton, and the reception at a banqueting suite in Hayes or Harrow. Because the distances are short, from 1.5 miles to Pinner up to 6.5 to Hayes, two events on the same day are perfectly possible with a clear plan.

We start with a list of every event, its address and its timings, then work out where Kaushik needs to be at each point. A second photographer can cover the other family's preparations at the same time, which helps when the two homes are in different boroughs. Each day is set out in your written quote, along with the travel from Northwood.

Civil and religious

Registering at The Pavilion or Brent Civic Centre before the religious day

Some couples hold a small civil ceremony a few days or weeks before the religious wedding. Harrow's ceremony room at The Pavilion seats up to 50 and has a courtyard for photographs; Brent's Ceremony Suite at the Civic Centre in Wembley takes up to 100 and has a flower wall and flower arch; Hillingdon's Nova Room and Astra Suite at Uxbridge Civic Centre hold 20 and 80.

A short civil ceremony is a good chance for relaxed portraits without the pressure of the main day. You can add an hour afterwards on Harrow Hill or in Headstone Manor Park. If the civil part is on the same day as the religious one, we keep it brief and move straight on, so the main ceremony keeps its full coverage.

Big guest lists

Group photographs, large families and the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines

Big Asian weddings mean big family photographs. We ask you to choose one relative from each side who knows everyone, and to write a short list of the groups you want, in order, so that grandparents are photographed first and nobody is missed. Kaushik positions the groups where the light and background work, which at a hall usually means near the stage before the meal.

Guests can come by train. Wembley Park station is on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines and Harrow-on-the-Hill on the Metropolitan, so guests can reach Wembley, Harrow and Kenton easily, and West Drayton on the Hillingdon side is served by the Elizabeth line. Tell guests the timings of the group photographs in the invitation, and the session runs faster on the day.

Planning

Planning around North West London

01

Map every event

List each event with address and timings, from the haldi at home in Kenton to the reception in Hayes. Short distances still need a margin on Wembley event days.

02

Name a group organiser

Pick one relative from each family who knows everyone. With a written list of groups, the family photographs at a big Harrow or Wembley hall move quickly.

03

Consider a second photographer

When preparations happen in two homes, say one in Stanmore and one in Alperton, a second photographer can cover the other family at the same time.

04

Ask about mandir guidance

Neasden, Ealing Road and Kenton all have Hindu temples. Tell us yours and any photography guidance it gives, and we plan around it.

05

Use the civil ceremony for portraits

A small civil ceremony at The Pavilion or Brent Civic Centre, a few days before, gives you calm portraits on Harrow Hill without the main-day rush.
