Ask the Hujjat centre or your mosque
If your nikah is at the KSIMC of London (Hujjat) in Stanmore or another centre, ask about photography and share the guidance with us before the day.

From a nikah in Stanmore or Willesden to a walima in Wembley Park, Kaushik Bathia photographs Muslim weddings in North West London calmly and respectfully, with the coverage shaped around what your family wants photographed.
The short answer
Kaushik Bathia, whose studio is at 21 Joel Street in Northwood Hills and who has been in business since 2001, photographs Muslim weddings in Stanmore, Edgware, West Harrow, Wembley, Yeading, Hayes and Willesden. He covers the mehndi, the nikah at home, a mosque or a hall, and the walima, agreeing beforehand which moments you want photographed. Muslim wedding photography starts from £750, and travel from Northwood is set out in your written quote.
Superb and highly professional wedding photographer. We had the pleasure of working with Kaushik Bathia Photography for a recent wedding at Orchardleigh Estate.
Kaushik photographed out wedding on september last year. He was so professional and was great with everyone making them laugh before taking all the snaps. We really couldn't have asked for more he worked hard all day to get the best pictures. We are very pleased with all the pictures and love the photo album. We will differently be using you again in the future Thank you!
I have known Kaushik for almost 20 years & in the recent years has been doing various photo projects, where he has been responsive & professional. Highly recommended him.
Walima
The walima is usually the largest event, and it can be held at home, in a banqueting suite or in a hotel. Wembley Park is 6.0 miles from the studio and Uxbridge 4.9, and both are well connected: Wembley Park station is on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines, and the Civic Centre car park in The Chimes sits opposite Uxbridge's ceremony rooms. Our Wood Green banqueting suite guide and our Wembley hotel guide cover two of the larger rooms for a walima.
Kaushik photographs the arrivals, the stage, the families together and the quieter moments at the tables. We agree in advance which parts of the walima you would like covered and which you would rather keep private, and the plan is set out in your written quote together with the travel from Northwood.

The nikah
Stanmore has Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jain and Jewish communities, and the KSIMC of London (Hujjat) Islamic centre is among its places of worship. In Willesden, Brent Council's local history notes the Pakistan Community Centre on Station Parade, dating from 1965. At the 2021 census 18.4% of West Harrow ward identified as Muslim, and in Yeading the 2011 figure was 18.3%.
A nikah may be held at home, at a mosque or Islamic centre, or at the walima venue. Wherever it is, Kaushik keeps to one side, works quietly and pauses during prayers. Each mosque or centre has its own guidance on photography; tell us yours and any rules it gives, and we plan around them. The signing of the nikah-nama and the agreement of the mahr are moments you may want on record.
Portraits
For couples in Stanmore and Edgware, the King George V Memorial Garden in Canons Park is a walled garden redesigned in the 1930s, with a central square pool, a raised terrace and formal flower beds. Bernays Gardens on Church Road, Stanmore, is a small walled garden, quieter still. Both suit a calm, modest portrait session away from guests.
In Brent, Gladstone Park sits on a hill with views across London, meadows, tree-lined avenues and a walled garden, a short drive from Willesden and Neasden. In Hillingdon, Swakeleys Park in Ickenham has a lake and the River Pinn, though professional photographs in Hillingdon parks need council permission, which you apply for through the Hillingdon Film Office before the date.

Mehndi and dholki
The mehndi and dholki nights before the wedding are lively and close-knit, and they can be held at home. Homes in Harrow are 3.5 miles from the studio, Yeading 4.8 and Edgware 5.9. Kaushik works with a compact set-up, finds the best light in the room before the guests arrive, and keeps the focus on the family's own traditions rather than posed set-pieces.
Before each event we agree with you which moments you want photographed and whether any parts of the evening should stay private. Each evening is booked and quoted as its own date, so you can choose to cover the mehndi and the walima and leave the dholki to family phones.
Registration
A nikah may need a separate civil ceremony to register the marriage, so check with your imam and your register office. Barnet couples in Edgware, Burnt Oak and Colindale use Hendon Town Hall, where the Heritage Room seats up to 45 and the Council Chamber up to 100. Harrow's ceremonies are at The Pavilion on College Road, seating up to 50, and Brent's at the Civic Centre in Wembley, for up to 100.
Read more on Stanmore, Willesden, Edgware, Wembley and Hayes, and on the national Muslim weddings page. Asian weddings in North West London covers multi-day planning for weddings that run from a mehndi to a walima across several boroughs, and the national page explains each part of the nikah.

Planning
If your nikah is at the KSIMC of London (Hujjat) in Stanmore or another centre, ask about photography and share the guidance with us before the day.
Tell us in advance which parts of the mehndi, nikah or walima should not be photographed, and Kaushik plans the coverage around that list.
The King George V Memorial Garden in Canons Park suits a quiet post-nikah portrait. Go early in the afternoon for the gentlest light.
Portraits in Swakeleys Park or other Hillingdon green spaces need council permission, so allow time to apply through the Hillingdon Film Office first. Allow time for it.

Good to know
Kaushik follows the photography guidance of each place of worship, so ask the KSIMC of London (Hujjat) what is permitted and share the reply with us. Stanmore is 4.5 miles from the studio, so it is an easy morning start.
Yes. Kaushik stops photographing during prayers and keeps a respectful distance throughout the nikah. We agree beforehand which moments you want photographed, from the nikah-nama signing to the family dua, so nothing during worship needs discussing on the day.
A Muslim wedding here starts from £750. Packages are built around your day, depending on whether you want the mehndi, nikah and walima covered. The drive from Northwood to each event is written into your quote before you book.
Yes. Gladstone Park sits on a hill with views across London, meadows, a walled garden and a duck pond, a short drive from Willesden. Willesden is 8.5 miles from the studio, the farthest part of this area.
Check with your imam and register office, as it depends on where the nikah takes place. If you hold one, Hendon Town Hall serves Barnet, The Pavilion serves Harrow and Brent Civic Centre serves Brent. Kaushik photographs civil ceremonies too.
Yes. Yeading is 4.8 miles from the studio and Uxbridge 4.9. Each event is planned and quoted as its own date with timings and addresses, so a mehndi one evening and a walima a few days later is straightforward.
Yes. You tell us which parts of each event you would like photographed and how, and Kaushik works quietly, without directing guests unless you ask. Families decide the approach, and we follow it, whether the nikah is at home in West Harrow or at a centre in Stanmore.
