A female photographer can cover the ladies' side of the nikah, so the women's moments are not lost. We photograph the blessings and the prayers of the imam with reverence. The exchange of consent and the joining of the two families is captured as it happens.

The henna of the mehndi is intricate and detailed, and we photograph both the design and the laughter around it. Where the celebrations are segregated, we cover the men's and ladies' sides with equal care. The reception and walima are the joyful finale, with speeches, family and dancing.
