For Wealdstone
Allow an hour. Conversation and small adjustments of stance take up most of that, not posing. Everything shows on a screen throughout, so nothing is withheld until later and a direction that is failing gets dropped quickly. If you own two tops you like, bring both.
Afterwards you choose keepers in a private gallery. Retouching happens by hand: texture survives, temporary marks do not, and facial structure is untouched. Every chosen frame is supplied twice over, at print size and again trimmed for screens.

What we offer
Outdoor sittings on the open fields at Byron Recreation Ground, booked when the sun has dropped off the pitches.
Indoor sittings at Northwood when the turf is soaked, with controlled light and a background you choose.
Retouched by hand and delivered at two resolutions: one that will print, one built for a profile.
Why choose us
We light each face to flatter it, adjusting the setup for skin tone, glasses and features so everyone looks their best. Glasses stay on if you wear them daily. The lights move rather than the face, tilting a degree or two until the reflection slides out of the frame entirely.
Sessions are unhurried, with time built in for changes of look and a relaxed pace throughout. You see the frames on screen during the sitting rather than only afterwards, so anything you dislike about a pose can be fixed while it still can be.

Good to know
The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6. Reaching it from Wealdstone means a train, not a drive, and that matters if parking is what usually stops a sitting getting booked. We use the studio when the turf at Byron Recreation Ground is wet, or once the light has thinned out. For an outdoor sitting we meet at the ground itself.
We do, but with a gentle touch. Passing distractions such as a stray hair or a small blemish are eased away, yet your skin, lines and character stay exactly as they are. We aim for a flattering, true-to-life portrait, never a heavily edited or artificial one. Getting to Wealdstone is straightforward for us: served by Harrow and Wealdstone station on the Bakerloo line, London Overground and the West Coast Main Line.
Either works. We cover Wealdstone, so a sitting can run at Byron Recreation Ground or at your workplace, assuming a window and some clear floor exist. Northwood is the answer when the weather is poor, or when what the picture needs is an even backdrop with no distractions in it. Say which suits you at the booking.
Because the Wealdstone plan is specific: Byron Recreation Ground, low sun early or late, you standing clear of the field edge so the background reads as flat green, and Northwood kept back for wet weather. If the pitches are busy we shift to the quieter side of the ground, where the camera can point away from the game.
Of course. It is common for a portrait session to mix solo images with a handful of couple or group shots, and there is usually room to include that. Simply let us know beforehand who is joining, so we can arrange the lighting and looks to suit everyone. For outdoor photographs in Wealdstone we would suggest Byron Recreation Ground, an open green space with playing fields and playground.

A Harrow district north of the town centre, historically known for the Kodak works that once employed thousands locally. Served by Harrow and Wealdstone station on the Bakerloo line, London Overground and the West Coast Main Line. When a session suits an outdoor setting, Byron Recreation Ground is a favourite near Wealdstone, close to the former Kodak factory site on Headstone Drive.

Byron Recreation Ground gives a Wealdstone sitting distance and denies it shade, and both follow from the playing fields. Distance first: a long clear stretch of turf lets a sitter stand well forward of anything solid, so everything behind them dissolves to unbroken green instead of a row of detail tugging at the eye. Shade is the harder half. Nothing grows over a playing field, so through the middle hours of a summer day the sun arrives close to vertical, darkening the sockets and printing a hard shadow under the nose. Turning the sitter round will not cure that, because there is nothing above to soften the light and nothing alongside to throw any back. Two things do cure it. One is timing: the closing ninety minutes before sunset, with the sun low across the fields and reaching a face sideways. The other is cloud, since a flat grey sky over ground this open works like one enormous diffuser. Season shifts the arithmetic more than it shifts the scenery. Open turf looks much the same in January as in July, and what alters is how high the sun climbs and how long the workable light lasts: in December an entire afternoon is usable and soft ground is the limiting factor, while in June only the earliest and latest hours are worth taking. Clothing follows the green. Mid greys, navy, rust and oatmeal keep their shape against grass, while bright white in open sun blows out before a face is correctly exposed.
