Both. Our studio at 21 Joel St, Northwood, about 4 miles from Wealdstone, gives us controlled lighting for headshots, newborns, portraits and product work, whatever the weather is doing over Harrow. When a natural setting suits you better, we come to you: your home in HA3, your venue, or an open space such as Headstone Manor Park, with its restored wetland and perimeter footpath. One booking can combine the two, with studio portraits in Northwood and outdoor frames at Byron Recreation Ground.

It is a blend. Whether it is a birthday in a Wealdstone garden or a party in the 220-person function suite at Harrow Leisure Centre, we mostly let things unfold and work quietly at the edges. If a moment needs shaping, say a family gathering outside the Great Barn, we offer a gentle prompt rather than a rigid pose. The balance keeps pictures relaxed but still considered.

Most people arrive at a sitting saying they hate having their picture taken, so nothing about the session is hurried. We chat, keep it light and give small, clear directions: where to look, what to do with your hands, which way to turn. Sittings since 2001 have taught us to spot when someone needs a pause, and nerves usually ease within minutes.

Plenty of pets are, and it rarely spoils a session. Whether we meet at your home or on the open grass at Byron Recreation Ground, your pet gets time to sniff around and get used to us before real photography begins, with you close by throughout. Anxious animals settle when nobody hurries them, and Harrow's Public Spaces Protection Order asks for dogs to be kept under control in public spaces, so we would sooner let a session run long than push a nervous pet.

Beyond shoots, the Northwood studio handles print and image work under one roof, handy if you have a box of family photographs to sort. That covers framing, enlargements, restoration of old or damaged photographs, and official passport and visa photos. So you can bring an existing picture in as easily as booking a new session, and leave with something finished.

Within the first two weeks is ideal, when newborns sleep deeply and curl naturally into those classic poses. Older babies are welcome too; we simply adapt the session to their stage. A provisional booking made before the birth, confirmed once your baby arrives, keeps the timing simple.

We do, at the studio or outdoors at Headstone Manor Park, and they pair well with a newborn session a few weeks later. Around thirty to thirty four weeks usually works best, while the bump is rounded and the trip from Wealdstone to Northwood is still comfortable. At the Northwood studio we provide gowns and guide you through flattering, relaxed poses.
