Serving Uxbridge
We photograph portraits throughout Uxbridge and the parts of Hillingdon nearest it, taking in Cowley, West Drayton and Denham, with Fassnidge Park as the usual outdoor ground and the room in Northwood held back for days the sky will not cooperate.
Bookings here come mostly from individuals, couples, and parents wanting one proper picture of a grown child before they move out. The useful piece of craft is that this park hands over water, mown grass and dense planting inside one visit, three quite separate lighting conditions, so the order of them gets settled before anybody starts walking rather than drifting about hoping something appears.

What we offer
Outdoor sittings at Fassnidge Park, or under controlled light in Northwood when the Uxbridge sky rules it out.
Individual, couple and adult-child portraits, planned around the season rather than squeezed into whatever light turns up.
Hand-finished images in a private gallery, ready to frame and sized separately for phones and social profiles.
Twenty-five years behind the lens
Location and look are agreed at the booking, so the sitting opens with a plan already in place rather than a debate. On the day we move through a handful of positions and show frames on the camera as they happen, so you see it taking shape and can say what you think while it can still be changed.
Editing is done by hand on the frames you choose, and the face is left alone apart from something temporary. What differs here is that the shortlist is settled with you standing next to us, not by email a fortnight later.

Good to know
We do, but with a gentle touch. Passing distractions such as a stray hair or a small blemish are eased away, yet your skin, lines and character stay exactly as they are. We aim for a flattering, true-to-life portrait, never a heavily edited or artificial one. Uxbridge is easy to reach: Terminus of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines at Uxbridge Underground station.
Think about colour against a green background, because that is what Uxbridge gives you at Fassnidge Park through most of the year. Olive and mid-green disappear into it; charcoal, navy and rust hold their edge. Bring shoes that cope with grass, since the better ground sits away from the surfaced paths. Tell us in advance whether you want the water, the open green or the planting behind you.
Long enough to work through the backgrounds we have agreed and no longer. At Fassnidge Park the water, the grass and the planting stand close enough together that one visit covers all three without anybody being marched about. When we start matters more than how long we stay: a booking placed for the closing part of a summer afternoon produces better light than a midday one.
Absolutely. Actor and model portfolios are a real strength of ours. We create range across your book, mixing clean commercial frames with more characterful, expressive ones. Understanding what casting directors need, we guide you gently through the different poses and expressions as we go. We cover Uxbridge and nearby Cowley, West Drayton and Denham.
Yes, and the lake bank in Uxbridge is the ground we would choose for it, because two people can stand at slightly different depths there and still both be lit properly, which is harder to arrange on flat open grass. Wear tones that agree with each other without matching exactly. If either of you would rather stay indoors, Northwood covers it.
Serving Uxbridge
Our studio is in Northwood, so Uxbridge (UB8) is part of our core Greater London area. It sits close to Ickenham and Hillingdon, which we cover too. Sessions run at the studio or on location in Uxbridge, and there is no travel charge for local bookings.
A west London town and the civic heart of Hillingdon, with a busy shopping centre and long RAF heritage. Terminus of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines at Uxbridge Underground station. When a session suits an outdoor setting, Fassnidge Park with its boating lake is a favourite near Uxbridge, close to The Battle of Britain Bunker at the former RAF Uxbridge site.

A sitting in Uxbridge usually ends at Fassnidge Park, and the reason is not the greenery but the fact that water, mown grass and the planting around the playground sit close together. Each does something different to a face. The boating lake has open sky above it and nothing overhanging, so the light on the bank arrives broad and even, which is generous to skin and poor for structure. The remedy is not extra light but less of it arriving square on, so we turn a sitter until the sky reaches the face from an angle and one cheek keeps a little weight. Open grass behaves in reverse during summer. Sunlit green lifts a faint colour cast onto the underside of the chin that nobody sees at the time and everyone sees in the edit, so warm months are worth planning for the closing stretch of daylight. Winter deletes the problem, since a sun that never climbs high gives shape across the whole of a short day. Clothing follows from that reasoning. Set against summer green, olive and mid-green tones sink backwards and the sitter loses an edge; set against the browns and greys of winter, those same tones suddenly read as chosen. Charcoal, deep blue and rust behave well in either season. Loud pattern is the one thing to leave in the wardrobe, because railings, ripples and bare branches already put plenty of detail behind a head, and a shirt competing with them gives the eye somewhere to go that is not the face.
