Serving Uxbridge

A Sikh wedding photographer for Uxbridge

Uxbridge is a west London town and the civic heart of Hillingdon. Your celebration in Ickenham, Hillingdon is in experienced hands, from the milni to the doli. We cover the whole of London and the surrounding area, and Uxbridge and the towns around it are well known to us.

We take the time beforehand to understand your family's customs and the order of the maiyan, mehndi and jaggo. We arrive early for the gurdwara start, stay through the doli and keep pace with the reception. We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the choora and kaleere as well as the four laavan.

Wherever your venues are across Uxbridge and Greater London, we plan the route and the early gurdwara timings in advance. Uxbridge is a west London town and the civic heart of Hillingdon. We also photograph in nearby Waltham Forest and Wandsworth. In and around Uxbridge, we have photographed at venues such as Abshar Banqueting and Denham Grove.

A west London town and the civic heart of Hillingdon, with a busy shopping centre and long RAF heritage. Terminus of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines at Uxbridge Underground station. For portraits away from the celebration, Fassnidge Park with its boating lake, playground and green open space works beautifully, and The Battle of Britain Bunker at the former RAF Uxbridge site adds a real sense of place.

What we offer

Sikh wedding coverage in Uxbridge

01

The Langar

The vegetarian langar shared by the whole sangat after the Anand Karaj, photographed with warmth.

02

Whole-Day Coverage

From the morning kirtan in the gurdwara to the last bhangra of the reception, told as one story.

03

Couple Portraits

A handful of timeless portraits taken away from the darbar sahib, amid the celebration.

Every tradition

From maiyan to doli

As the ragis sing each laav, the couple walk slowly around the Guru Granth Sahib, and we photograph it quietly from the side. We keep our distance during the laavan and the prayers, and step in only for the joyful greetings. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye.

From the turmeric of the maiyan to the music of the jaggo, the events set the tone for the wedding. The mehndi, the jaggo and the maiyan each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. The mehndi is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it.

The whole celebration

From the milni to the reception

Some couples keep an elaborate sequence of events; others a simpler one, and we shape coverage to yours. The jaggo night brings an evening of music, dancing and candlelit pots before the wedding day itself.

The wedding day itself is a journey, from the morning milni and the kirtan to the laavan and the doli. We capture the reception in full, the speeches, the first dance and the bhangra on the floor.

Why choose us

Experience that shows in Uxbridge

Our experience of Punjabi and Sikh weddings, inside the gurdwara and out, runs deep. Decades of gurdwara weddings mean we read the day instinctively and never miss the milni or the doli.

We cover the whole of the UK for Anand Karaj ceremonies, so distance never stands between us and your gurdwara. We travel happily across Greater London and the neighbouring counties for the maiyan, the Anand Karaj and the doli alike.
