List every event
Write down each event, its address and its timing, from the mehndi to the reception. Each day is then quoted as its own part of one package.

A North London Asian wedding can begin with a mehndi at home in Southgate, move to a temple, gurdwara or mosque, and finish with several hundred guests in a Tottenham or Edmonton banqueting hall. Kaushik photographs each event, and packages are built around your days.
The short answer
Yes. Kaushik Bathia, in practice since 2001 and rated 4.8 from 580+ Google reviews, photographs Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati, Tamil and Punjabi weddings in Barnet, Camden, Haringey, Enfield and Islington. Each event, from mehndi to reception, is planned and quoted on its own. Wedding photography starts from £750, and travel from Northwood, 8 to 15 miles away, is set out in writing.
A superb and highly professional wedding photographer. Throughout the registry and wedding ceremonies Kaushik Bathia took beautiful photographs ensuring he captured all the special moments. His friendly personality put everyone at ease and his unique ideas resulted in some wonderful family pictures which we will treasure forever.
I hired Kaushik for our wedding and I’m extremely glad I did!! Kaushik took amazing pictures and the quality of the pictures were amazing. Kaushik was very patient and was very helpful since the start. My family including our guest were constantly asking me who the photographer was as he gave the best service.
Kaushik is a fantastic photographer — professional, easy to work with, and incredibly talented. Highly recommend!
Several days, several boroughs
An Asian wedding rarely stays in one place. The mehndi or sangeet may be at the family home in Finchley, the religious ceremony at your mandir, gurdwara or mosque, the civil marriage at a register office and the reception at a hall in another borough. In North London that can mean four different councils in one week, so the first planning step is a simple list of each event, its address and its start time.
Kaushik then plans each day separately. A Thursday mehndi in Palmers Green and a Saturday ceremony and reception in Tottenham are two parts of one package, each with its own hours and its own share of travel from Northwood, which is set out in writing before you book. Coverage starts from £750. Packages are built around your days, so a family that wants only the main ceremony and the reception books only those.

Big guest lists
The east of the area has the large rooms. Haringey's approved ceremony venue list includes banqueting suites in Wood Green and Tottenham, some seating several hundred for a meal, and Upper Edmonton has a large ballroom venue of its own. On the Barnet side, halls in Colindale and Edgware list Asian weddings among the events they host, so a reception can stay close to Hendon or Mill Hill if that suits the family better.
Big numbers change how a photographer works. Family group photographs with 400 guests go far quicker with a written list of names and a fixed slot in the running order, often straight after the couple's entrance. A large hall can be short of daylight, so the couple's portraits are planned outside before the reception, in a park close to the hall, and the evening inside is left for the entrance, the speeches and the dancing.
Three of these halls have their own venue guides on our site, with parking and room notes: Upper Edmonton, Western Road in Wood Green and Wood Green High Road. Each explains what to ask the hall before you book.
Civil and religious
You can hold the legal marriage at a register office a day or a week before the religious ceremony, or at a licensed hall on the day itself. Haringey's register office at George Meehan House suits a small civil ceremony, with rooms for 22, 52 or 79 guests. Enfield's Council Chamber at the Civic Centre on Silver Street takes 122, which helps when even the civil part has a long guest list.
Hendon Town Hall, home of Barnet's register office, has four rooms for up to 170 guests in a Grade II listed building. Islington Town Hall on Upper Street and Camden Town Hall on Judd Street cover the inner boroughs. Whichever you choose, the civil ceremony becomes its own short booking, with room for family portraits outside afterwards, and it can sit inside the same package as the main wedding.

Traditions
The rituals differ, and so does the planning. A Hindu or Gujarati wedding centres on the mandap, the pheras and family rituals such as the haldi; a Sikh wedding on the anand karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara; a Muslim wedding on the nikah, at home or in a mosque, and then the walima. Each has its own guide: Hindu, Sikh and Muslim weddings in North London.
Tamil and Punjabi weddings, and couples joining two traditions, can mix events freely. Tell us what happens on each day and where, including any photography guidance your place of worship gives, and the coverage is planned around it. Our national Asian wedding photography page explains how the coverage works from one event to the next.
Pre-wedding
A pre-wedding shoot gives you pictures for invitations and a slideshow, and lets you get used to the camera before the big days. Trent Country Park near Cockfosters has ornamental lakes, a lime avenue and free council car parks by the Cockfosters Road entrance. Hampstead Garden Suburb's Central Square, with buildings by Sir Edwin Lutyens, has formal architecture that suits traditional outfits, and Myddelton House Gardens at Bulls Cross is an eight-acre botanical garden.
The Asian town pages give more local detail: Hendon, Barnet, Wood Green, Tottenham, Enfield, Edmonton and Islington. A pre-wedding shoot and the wedding days can share one written quote, with the travel for each shown separately.

Planning
Write down each event, its address and its timing, from the mehndi to the reception. Each day is then quoted as its own part of one package.
With 300 or more guests, set a fixed time for family groups in the running order and keep a written list of names ready.
A register office ceremony in Hendon, Wood Green or Enfield a few days ahead keeps the main day free for the religious rites and the reception.
Trent Country Park's lakes and lime avenue, with free car parks by the Cockfosters Road entrance, suit a relaxed pre-wedding shoot.

Good to know
Yes. Each event is booked as part of one package but planned on its own, with its own start time. Southgate is about 12.3 miles from Northwood, and travel for each day is set out in your written quote before you book. Tell us the guest numbers for each event so the coverage fits.
Yes, mainly in the east and the north-west of the area. Haringey's approved ceremony list includes big banqueting suites in Wood Green and Tottenham, Upper Edmonton has a large ballroom venue, and halls in Colindale and Edgware list Asian weddings among their events. Our venue guides cover several of them, and Kaushik can photograph at any hall you choose.
It depends where you marry and how many guests are coming. Barnet uses Hendon Town Hall, Haringey uses George Meehan House in Wood Green, Enfield uses Gentleman's Row and its Council Chamber, and Islington and Camden use their town halls on Upper Street and Judd Street. Ask the borough about giving notice, as each runs its own bookings.
Pymmes Park in Upper Edmonton has a Victorian walled garden with Grade II listed walls, an ornamental pond and a lake. Bruce Castle Park in Tottenham, the area's oldest park, surrounds a 16th-century manor house and has an oak thought to be about 500 years old. Both are within easy reach of the larger halls in the east.
Yes. Gujarati, Tamil, Punjabi, Hindu, Sikh and Muslim weddings are all covered, along with weddings that join two traditions. Tell us the order of rituals and which family elders matter most in the photographs, and the plan is built around them. Coverage starts from £750, with packages built around your days.
Yes. A second photographer can be added so the other family's preparations are covered at the same time, which helps when the two homes are in different boroughs, say Finchley and Enfield. It is an optional extra and is shown in your quote.
As soon as you have the main date and venue. A multi-day wedding needs several dates held at once, so the earlier you ask, the easier it is to keep every day free. Send the dates and towns by phone, WhatsApp or the form, and Kaushik will reply with availability.
