A single ceremony is a job you can rehearse in your head. Several days at several addresses is a different animal, because the part that breaks is never the ceremony. It is the ninety minutes afterwards, when half the family is changing, eating and waiting on cars, with nobody having told the photographer whether that counts as coverage. Hours are the argument worth having first. Set them against a timeline, not a list of events.
Whatever ends up mattering most was usually made in those gaps. A grandmother sitting down for the first time all day. Two cousins arguing over a car. None of it was staged. Nothing of the sort comes round twice. We therefore build the booking around presence rather than around the running order of rites, and we would sooner arrive early and stand idle than walk in to a room already full. Find out by name who leads the ceremony, then put the question to that person directly: what may a camera do here. Answers vary, and they follow less from the family's religion than from the individual standing at the front. Some want you invisible. Some will wave you forward. Either is workable.
