The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed Asian weddings across Greater London for over twenty five years, and couples in Hendon choose him for calm, knowledgeable coverage of every tradition, backed by five European Gold awards. A second photographer means we can be at the mandap and with the guests at once, so the reactions in the room are held alongside the ritual at the front. We photograph every Asian wedding tradition in Hendon, from the Hindu mandap and pheras to the Sikh Anand Karaj, the Muslim nikah and the Tamil muhurtham, across multi day celebrations. We know the rhythm of a mandap, a gurdwara and a nikah alike, so the sacred moments are always captured. A second photographer for the busiest days, a female photographer where needed and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London for your wedding.
Serving Hendon
Hendon is a diverse north London area with grand banqueting suites. Asian families throughout Colindale, Golders Green and Brent Cross trust us with their celebrations, large and small. From the kanyadaan to the saptapadi, or the first laav to the last, the ceremony tells its own story and we follow it.
We keep the calm of the ceremony and the energy of the reception in equal measure. We plan our movements so the couple never feels managed, staying near enough to catch everything and far enough to let the day belong to you. We balance documentary coverage with a few quiet portraits, so your album holds both energy and elegance.
Much of our work takes us across Greater London; Hendon, a diverse north London area with grand banqueting suites, and the towns around it, including Colindale, Golders Green and Brent Cross, are very familiar to us. We also cover nearby Edgware and Stanmore. Hendon and the towns around it offer venues such as RAF Museum London, Meridian Grand and The Hive London, all familiar to us.
Hendon is a diverse area of the London Borough of Barnet and home to a large Middlesex University campus. Hendon Central station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Hendon Park, a public park close to Hendon Central station, with RAF Museum London, dedicated to the history of the Royal Air Force close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer
We cover the Sikh ceremony with the respect it asks for, capturing the palki, the hymns and the moment you are joined.
Whether by baraat, doli or a lit-up reception walk, we make sure your entrance is caught in full and never half-framed.
Calm, unobtrusive coverage that captures the day as you lived it, never staged.
Every tradition
The blessings of the elders close many ceremonies, and we capture them with warmth. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham and the tying of the thali are the sacred centre of the ceremony. We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position.
We capture the lively baraat as the groom arrives, with the dhol, the dancing and the milni. When the baraat sets off, the dhol drives the dancing and the groom moves slowly forward amid his family, and we are in the thick of every joyful step. The haldi or pithi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments.

The whole celebration
A garba fills the room with movement, and we photograph the sway of it without asking anyone to pause, letting the colour and the circles of dancing lead the frame. The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration.
The best galleries are spread evenly across the day, not saved for the ceremony alone. We always recommend a little time for couple portraits, often at golden hour, away from the bustle.
Why choose us
Experience is not only knowing the rituals; it is knowing when a grandmother will cry and where the light will fall, and being ready for both. You want a photographer who reads the day instinctively, and instinct like that is simply what twenty-five years of Asian weddings leaves behind.
We are London-based and travel across Greater London and the wider region for Asian weddings. From our London base the towns of Greater London are an easy and familiar run, and we are happy to travel further afield when your day calls for it.

Where we travel
Whether your celebration keeps to one venue or ranges across the county, we carry backup equipment to every location so nothing is ever left to chance. We factor in travel and timings carefully, so we are always where we need to be.

Good to know
We do. An engagement or pre-wedding shoot lets you relax in front of the camera ahead of the celebration, and we are happy to set one up at a location you love.
Yes, these evenings are some of our favourites. The mehndi, sangeet and garba are full of colour, music and family energy, and they set the tone for everything that follows. We record them in a relaxed, observational style so the laughter and dancing come through honestly.
Yes. We photograph the nikah and walima with care for the customs of the day, working discreetly during the signing of the contract and the exchange of vows. Where the celebration is segregated, we can arrange a female photographer so guests feel entirely comfortable throughout.
Every time. To each Hendon wedding we bring backup cameras, lenses and memory cards, and we back up your images as the day goes on, keeping your photographs safe. With twenty-five years and over a thousand weddings behind us, being ready for anything comes naturally.
Many times. Asian weddings bring together dhol drummers, decorators, caterers and entertainers, and we know how to work alongside them without getting in each other's way. Good coordination on the day keeps things flowing, and it means we are always in the right place when something happens.
Yes. Every image we deliver is edited by hand for colour, tone and consistency across the days, and we retouch our selected portraits with a light, natural touch. We aim for photographs that look timeless rather than heavily processed, so they age well in your album.
You will receive a preview gallery of favourites soon after the day, with your full edited collection following once we have worked carefully through every event. Multi-day Asian weddings produce a large number of images, so we take the time needed to edit them to a consistent, high standard.
