Kaushik took very lovely photos of us and our food product products and professional photos. He gave us ideas which we didn’t think about and executed each photo perfectly. He has helped us tremendously as his photographry vision has made our dreams come to light.

Krishil S., Google review, 2025

…I needed some photos done for my acting career and Kaushik came highly recommended. It was helpful to know he is very experienced in taking photos for this purpose and kindly advised me on what outfits to wear to produce the best photos. Kaushik was very patient, helpful and professional which made it very easy to feel relaxed and comfortable during the shoot.

High streets

Shopfronts and interiors from Muswell Hill Broadway to Green Lanes

North London's high streets each have a look worth using. Muswell Hill's shopping centre runs along Fortis Green Road, the Broadway and Colney Hatch Lane, lined with early 20th-century Edwardian parades whose original facades mostly survive above street level, so a shopfront photographed from across the road can include that architecture. In Harringay, Green Lanes is a busy, cosmopolitan street with a large number of Turkish bakeries, grocers and cafes.

Further north, the Palmers Green parade on Green Lanes has restaurants, independent cafes, clothing shops and beauty salons, and Winchmore Hill's shops and restaurants gather around The Green. Golders Green Road serves Indian, Israeli, Thai, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Italian food, which makes dish stills, flat-lays and menu images a common brief there. Makers

Studios and makers in the Haringey Warehouse District and N22

Haringey has a dense cluster of small producers. Florentia Clothing Village in the Haringey Warehouse District is home to around 40 businesses in spaces from 500 to 7,000 sq ft, and Blue House Yard on River Park Road in Wood Green has 12 self-contained studios and offices of 4 to 25 square metres. Collage Artspaces, within 5 to 10 minutes of Wood Green and Alexandra Palace stations in the N22 Creative Corridor, houses more than 150 artists and creative businesses.

In Tottenham, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre runs Enterprise Studios, 20 flexible workspaces for artists, entrepreneurs and creative organisations, and The Chocolate Factory in Wood Green has provided artists' studios since 1996. A maker's brief usually mixes three things: the product on a clean background, the product in use, and the maker at the bench. Small items can also be shot on white at the Northwood studio. See Wood Green commercial photography.

Retail and markets

Brent Cross, The Spires, Edmonton Green and the old market charters

Retail here runs from the very large to the very old. Brent Cross Shopping Centre opened in 1976 as the UK's first out-of-town shopping centre and has about 910,000 sq ft of retail space, The Mall Wood Green was built between 1976 and 1981 as Shopping City, and Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, opened in 1967, includes a covered market and a library. In Chipping Barnet, The Spires shopping centre keeps the twin spires of the Methodist church that once stood on the site.

Enfield Market, whose Market Place was enlarged in 1632 after a royal charter of 1618, is run by The Old Enfield Charitable Trust and sells produce, flowers, plants, clothes and jewellery. In Islington, Chapel Market near Angel sells fruit, vegetables and fish alongside household goods, and Camden Market's stalls stretch along the Regent's Canal. A stallholder or independent shop can book a short session before trading starts. More on commercial photography in Enfield and Islington.

Location hire

Period rooms, listed buildings and permits for brand shoots

For a brand shoot that needs a setting rather than a white wall, Stephens House and Gardens in Finchley takes location bookings for film and photography, offering period rooms, the gardens and ancillary rooms for make-up and wardrobe. The Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust, which runs the Grade I listed cemetery on Swain's Lane, takes filming and photography requests on a dedicated line. Both are booked with the owner before the shoot is confirmed.

Public parks have rules of their own. Photography beyond personal phone use in The Regent's Park needs a Royal Parks permit, the City of London requires permission for professional photography on Hampstead Heath, and Alexandra Palace requires a permit for any photography in Alexandra Park. If your shoot needs one of these, allow time for the application when you set the deadline.

Industry and regeneration

Brimsdown, Meridian Water and Brent Cross Town

Enfield's industrial east is a different kind of brief. East Brimsdown, beside the Lea Valley line, is made up of the Brimsdown Industrial Estate with the Watermill, Sovereign and Leeside business centres and Riverwalk Business Park, where the pictures a firm needs can include the warehouse, the production line and the people running it. Meridian Water is a council-led 20-year regeneration of Upper Edmonton, planned to deliver 10,000 homes beside the Lee Valley Regional Park, with its own station since June 2019.

At the other end of the area, Brent Cross Town between Hendon and Cricklewood is planned to provide workspace for 25,000 people. New premises anywhere need the same set: exterior, reception, working spaces and team portraits. Tell us the type of shoot, roughly how many images and your deadline, and you will receive a plan and a quote. Travel from Northwood is quoted up front in that written quote. For team portraits on the same visit see headshots in North London, and the national commercial photography page covers each type of shoot.

Planning

Planning around North London

01

Flask Walk and Hampstead High Street

Flask Walk's pedestrianised alley of shops near Hampstead tube station suits a small retailer's exterior and product-in-window shots, best taken before footfall builds.

02

Belsize Village and England's Lane

Restaurants, cafes and independent boutiques cluster in Belsize Village and on England's Lane, a compact patch for a morning of shopfront and interior work.

03

Kentish Town Road

Kentish Town Road is the district's main commercial high street, a straight run for photographing a row of street-level premises for a landlord or trader group.

04

Exmouth Market studios

Design and architecture firms on Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell can combine a showroom set, staff portraits and street frames in one booking.
