The short answer

Do you offer commercial and product photography in Bedfordshire?

Yes. Kaushik photographs products, premises, staff and work in progress for Bedfordshire businesses, on site anywhere from Luton and Dunstable to Biggleswade and Bedford, or at the Northwood studio for smaller products. Each brief is scoped first, so you know how many images and which settings are covered. Prices are given on request, and travel from Northwood is quoted up front and set out in writing.

Our usual session area is within about 20 miles of the studio. Further out in Bedfordshire, sessions are by arrangement, with travel quoted in writing before you book.

What we photograph

Products, premises and people for Bedfordshire firms

Commercial work covers a wide range. A manufacturer needs clean product images for a catalogue and shots of the production line. A restaurant or shop needs interiors, food and frontage. A professional firm wants its office, its team at work and a set of consistent headshots. A trades business wants before-and-after photographs and a few images of people on the job.

Every brief starts with how the images will be used: a website, an online marketplace, print, signage or a tender. That decides the backgrounds, the format and how many images you need.

Business geography

From Woodside and the airport to Bedford and Biggleswade

Much of Bedfordshire's industry sits along its transport links. The Woodside industrial area of Dunstable and Houghton Regis connects to junction 11A of the M1 by the Woodside Link, and the Luton Dunstable Busway runs from Houghton Regis to Luton Airport. Flitwick is about 4 miles from junction 12. Luton grew on hat making, which began in the 17th century and peaked in the 1930s, and Leighton Buzzard's narrow-gauge railway first ran in 1919 to carry local sand.

Further east, Biggleswade grew from 16,551 people in 2011 to 22,541 in 2021, a fast-growing market town on the River Ivel whose charter dates back to King John. In the north, Bedford is the county town, with its centre and riverside on the Great Ouse.

On site

Photographing your premises and staff

On-site shoots are planned around your working day. Kaushik walks the site with you first, agrees a shot list and then works area by area, so only one part of the business is disrupted at a time. For a production line or a busy kitchen, we time it with your quieter hours; for a shop, before opening is usually easiest.

Staff photographs combine well with premises work. A plain-backdrop headshot for each person and a few natural shots of people at work give a website a consistent, honest look. Travel from Northwood to your premises is set out in your written quote, along with what the day includes.

Products

Product photography on site or at the studio

Small and medium products, from food and cosmetics to tools and parts, are photographed most consistently in the studio, on white or a coloured background with controlled light. You can drop items at 21 Joel Street in Northwood Hills, or send them, and collect them afterwards. From Luton or Dunstable the studio is about 20 miles by road.

Larger items, machinery and installed products are photographed where they are. Kaushik brings portable lighting and backdrops to Bedfordshire units and showrooms, and plans angles that show scale and detail.

Market towns

Shops, cafés and independents in Bedfordshire's market towns

Bedfordshire's market towns each have a distinct character for a small business to show off. Ampthill has held a weekly Thursday market since Henry III granted its charter in 1219. Woburn's Market Place sits in a village rebuilt in the Georgian style after 1724. Dunstable grew up where the Roman Watling Street crossed the Icknield Way, a prehistoric route claimed to be the oldest road in Britain.

For an independent shop or café, a short session can cover the frontage, the interior, a few products and the owner at work. Those images then carry a website, a Google listing and social media for months.

Planning

Planning around Bedfordshire

01

Write a shot list

List each product, room or person you need, and where the images will be used. It keeps the day efficient.

02

Plan around quiet hours

Book premises shoots before opening or after closing so customers and staff are not in the way.

03

Prepare the products

Clean, unscuffed samples with labels straight save a great deal of retouching later.

04

Think about scale

For machinery or large items, decide whether a person in shot would help show size and use.
