Start with a shot list
List each image you need and where it will be used, from a marketplace listing to a menu, so the quote and the day are both precise.

Product shots, premises, food, staff at work and the details that sell, photographed for Kent shops, makers, restaurants and firms on site or at the studio.
The short answer
Yes. Kaushik photographs products, shop and office premises, food and staff for Kent businesses, either on site in towns such as Maidstone, Dartford, Rochester or Canterbury, or at the Northwood studio, where products can be sent or brought. Each job is quoted once we know the shot list. Travel from Northwood is quoted up front and set out in writing before you book, so the full cost is clear from the start.
Our usual session area is within about 20 miles of the studio. Further out in Kent, sessions are by arrangement, with travel quoted in writing before you book.

What it covers
Commercial work covers anything a business uses to sell: product images for a website or marketplace, interior and exterior shots of premises, food and drink for a menu, staff at work, and the small details that show quality. Our national commercial photography page lists the kinds of job we take on.
In Kent that might mean a restaurant in Canterbury wanting new menu photographs, a Tunbridge Wells boutique refreshing its website, a Medway engineering firm documenting its workshop, or a maker near Sevenoaks needing clean product shots for online sales. The approach is the same: agree what the images must do, write a shot list, then plan the day around light and opening hours.

Kent trade
Maidstone is the county town and Kent's largest town, with the River Medway running through its centre and Maidstone Borough Council's offices at Maidstone House on King Street. It is a natural base for professional firms, and the town also has a long history of making: James Whatman and his son invented wove paper at Turkey Mill in Maidstone from 1740.
On the London side, Bluewater opened on 16 March 1999 in a former chalk quarry just outside Dartford and is the UK's fifth-largest shopping centre, with around 210 stores. Retailers, franchise owners and service businesses around it need imagery that holds up next to national brands. In Medway, Gillingham is the largest town, joined in one conurbation with Chatham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham.
Further east, Ashford grew as a market town, with a livestock market charter from Henry III in 1243, and later as a railway town; today high-speed trains link Ashford International with St Pancras and the M20 links it with London and the Channel Tunnel.
Premises
Premises are best photographed before opening or after closing, when there are no customers to work around and the space can be tidied. We use the available light where it is good and add our own where it is not, so the shots show the room as it feels to a visitor, not as a dark, flat phone photo.
For a restaurant, that usually means a few hero dishes, the room set for service, the team at work and the kitchen if you are proud of it. For an office, it means the entrance, meeting rooms, people working and the details of your brand. In historic Kent buildings, such as those in Rochester, Canterbury or the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, the character of the building is part of the story, so we make room for it.
Staff portraits can be done on the same visit. See Kent headshots for how a consistent team set-up works in a meeting room.

Products
Small products photograph best in controlled light. You can send or bring products to the studio at 21 Joel Street, Northwood Hills, where they can be shot on white for marketplaces or styled for a website and social media. That avoids an on-site visit altogether and keeps the cost down for product-only work.
Larger items, installations, machinery or anything that needs to be shown in use are better photographed where they are. A garden designer's finished project near Sevenoaks or a builder's kitchen in Gravesend has to be shot in place. We discuss which approach suits your products before quoting, and we can mix the two: product shots at the studio, lifestyle images on site.
Quotes
Every commercial job is quoted individually once we know the shot list, the number of final images, how they will be used and where the shoot will happen. Kent locations run from Dartford, about 30 miles from Northwood, to Canterbury, about 68, and travel from Northwood is set out in your written quote before you book.
Send us a short brief by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383 or using the form below: what you sell, what you need, and any deadline such as a website launch or a seasonal menu. The Kent photographer hub covers every service we offer in the county, and the Kent event photography page covers launches and company events.

Kent shops and restaurants photograph best before opening or after closing, when the space is clear and quiet.
Small products can be sent or brought to Northwood Hills, avoiding a trip into Kent for product-only work.
Historic premises in Rochester, Canterbury or Tunbridge Wells are part of your brand, so we leave room in the frame for the architecture.
From Dartford at about 30 miles to Canterbury at about 68, travel from Northwood is written into your quote before you commit.

Edited images are delivered as quickly as possible after the shoot. If you have a launch date or menu deadline, tell us when you book and we will plan around it.
Behind the camera is Kaushik Bathia, established in Northwood since 2001, FBIPP and FMPA, with five European Kodak Gold Awards.
