The short answer

Can a headshot photographer come to our office in Kent?

Yes. Kaushik brings a portable backdrop and lights to offices across Kent, from Dartford and the Bluewater area to Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury, and sets up in a meeting room so staff can step out in turn to a timetable agreed with you. Every person is lit the same way, so the team page looks consistent. Travel from Northwood is quoted up front and set out in writing before you book, with the session price given on request.

Our usual session area is within about 20 miles of the studio. Further out in Kent, sessions are by arrangement, with travel quoted in writing before you book.

Setting up a headshot studio in your Kent office

For most firms the simplest answer is to bring the studio to you. Kaushik needs a meeting room or a quiet corner of about three metres by four, a power socket, and somewhere for people to check their hair. He arrives early, builds the backdrop and lights, and tests the set-up on whoever is free first.

Staff then come in one at a time, to a timetable we agree with you beforehand. We take a range of expressions and a couple of angles for each person before moving on to the next, so the working day carries on around the set-up. For a Kent business, keeping people at their desks matters far more than the cost of one person's commute to a studio.

Because everyone is lit and framed the same way, the results sit neatly together on a website team page, in a tender document or on LinkedIn. See corporate headshots for how team days work and the formats we deliver.

Where Kent works

Kent's business centres, from Bluewater to Maidstone

Kent's working life is spread across several centres. Maidstone is the county town and the largest town in Kent, with Maidstone Borough Council's main offices at Maidstone House on King Street. In the Medway towns, Gillingham is the largest, forming a conurbation with Chatham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham, and Medway Council is based at Gun Wharf in Chatham.

On the London side, Bluewater opened in 1999 in a former chalk quarry just outside Dartford and has around 210 stores. Dartford station is the busiest in Kent, where the North Kent, Bexleyheath and Dartford Loop lines meet. Further east, high-speed trains run from Ashford International to St Pancras, and Canterbury has three universities with about 31,000 students and the academic and support staff to match.

Wherever your office is, the set-up is the same. What changes is the distance: an office in Dartford is about 30 miles from Northwood, and one in Canterbury about 68. Travel from Northwood to your premises is set out in your written quote, so the cost of an on-site day is clear before you commit.

Individuals

LinkedIn and personal headshots for Kent professionals

Not everyone needs a team day. Consultants, solicitors, estate agents, coaches and job hunters often need one good headshot quickly, and for a single person the trip can work either way. Kaushik can come to your home office in Sevenoaks or Tonbridge, or you can visit the studio if you are travelling into London anyway.

A LinkedIn headshot needs to look like you on a good day: clear eyes, a relaxed jaw and nothing distracting in the background. We guide your posture and expression rather than leaving you to guess, and take enough frames to give you a choice. Wear what you would wear to meet an important client, with a spare top in a different colour.

For more personal or creative images, such as for a website about page or a book jacket, see portrait photography in Kent. The standard headshot session page explains how individual bookings work at the studio.

Studio

Kent office or Northwood studio: choosing between them

The studio at 21 Joel Street, Northwood Hills, is two minutes from Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line. For one or two people who are already in north-west London, or who want a particular coloured backdrop and complete control over the light, it is the efficient choice. It can also be combined with a meeting in London.

For five or more people in one Kent office, it nearly always works out better for Kaushik to come to you. We will tell you honestly which option suits once we know how many people, where you are and how quickly you need the files.

Planning

Planning a Kent team headshot day

Send a list of names, roles and any people who can only attend at certain times. Ask staff to bring a choice of tops and to avoid fine stripes or tiny checks, which can shimmer on screen. If your brand has a colour, tell us and we can match the background or keep it neutral so it works anywhere.

If some staff are away on the day, a short follow-up visit or a studio appointment can be matched to the same lighting so new photos sit alongside the originals. That consistency is useful for firms with offices in more than one Kent town, or for new starters later in the year. The Kent photographer page and the Kent commercial photography page cover the other work we do for businesses.

Planning

Planning around Kent

01

A small room is enough

A meeting room of about three metres by four with a power socket is all Kaushik needs to set up a full headshot studio in your Kent office.

02

A timetable for the day

Staff in a Maidstone or Ashford office step out in turn to slots agreed beforehand, so meetings and client calls carry on around the set-up.

03

One look across offices

Firms with staff in Dartford, Medway and Canterbury can have every site photographed with the same lighting for a consistent team page.

04

Distance stated plainly

Kent offices are 30 to 70 miles from Northwood, and the travel for your address is written into the quote before you book.

05

Studio for one or two

Single professionals already in north-west London may find a short studio session at Northwood Hills quicker than an on-site visit.
