The short answer

Can a headshot photographer come to our office in Berkshire?

Yes. Kaushik brings a portable studio, lights and a backdrop to offices across Berkshire, from Slough Trading Estate, about 10 miles from Northwood, to Bracknell's Southern Industrial Area, about 19 miles away, and on to Reading and Newbury. Staff step out of their day one at a time, so work carries on. Travel is quoted in writing with the day's price, which is given on request.

Our usual session area is within about 20 miles of the studio. Further out in Berkshire, sessions are by arrangement, with travel quoted in writing before you book.

I needed a few photographs for my website but ended up buying all the pictures taken by Kaushik as they were all beautiful and I couldn’t leave any behind! He was responsive, accommodating and flexible. I’ve already recommended him to a friend. I’ll be back when I need more pictures taken. Thanks Kaushik!

…Kaushik knows his stuff and is very friendly and helpful, ready to go that extra mile to provide a really good service. He made us feel relaxed, comfortable and very much at home throughout the session - these details are so important to help you look your best. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kaushik to anyone looking to have great photographs taken.

Mehul S., Google review, 2014

Where Berkshire works

Headshots for a county full of head offices

Slough holds more global company headquarters than anywhere else in the UK outside London, among them the head offices of Blackberry, Telefonica and DHL. A Berkshire professional may therefore need a headshot that fits a group standard: same background, same crop, same light. Kaushik sets that standard with the first person of the day and repeats it exactly for everyone after.

Slough Trading Estate began in 1920 on the site of a First World War army motor depot, and today, owned by SEGRO, it is the largest industrial estate in single private ownership in Europe. Offices, laboratories and warehouses sit side by side there, so one headshot day might cover a boardroom in the morning and a production floor after lunch. We agree a room for the set-up in advance and keep everything in it.

Team days

Running a team headshot day in Slough, Bracknell or Reading

A team day runs on a list. Your office manager sends names and rough time slots, and each person steps in front of the camera in turn, seeing the back of the screen so they can pick an expression they like. Bigger teams can be split across two mornings, which also helps colleagues who work part-time or split their week between home and office.

Bracknell, designated a new town in 1949, is home to the Waitrose headquarters in its Southern Industrial Area, and firms such as Fujitsu, Dell and HP have operations in the town. On that side of the county a company may have office and warehouse staff under one roof, and the same lighting can move from a meeting room to a shop floor while keeping the look consistent.

In Reading, the station is served by Great Western Railway, CrossCountry, South Western Railway and the Elizabeth line, which helps when staff based at other sites come in for the day. Reading is about 26 miles from the studio, so a full day there is planned with a fixed start time and a set order of departments.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn headshots for Berkshire freelancers and consultants

Not everyone has an office to be photographed in. For consultants, freelancers and anyone changing jobs, the Northwood studio is the simplest choice, or Kaushik can set up in a meeting room you hire nearer home, anywhere from Windsor to Wokingham. A good LinkedIn headshot needs a clean background, direct eye contact and a little space above the head for the circular crop the platform applies.

Bring three tops in plain, solid colours and leave fine stripes at home, since they can shimmer on screen. If you wear glasses, bring your usual pair; the lights are angled to keep reflections off the lenses. For a relaxed outdoor version as well, a few minutes in a nearby park after the indoor set gives you a second look for a website or a speaker profile.

Studio option

Headshots at the Northwood studio, about 10 miles from Slough

For individuals, the studio at 21 Joel Street, Northwood Hills, is often the quickest route. Slough is about 10 miles away and Windsor about 12, and the studio has backdrops and lighting already in place, so a sitting needs no set-up time. Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line is two minutes' walk away, which makes a lunchtime or after-work slot practical.

If a whole department in Ascot, Sandhurst or Newbury needs new headshots, it makes more sense for Kaushik to come to you. The trip from Northwood to your office is set out in writing alongside the price for the day, before you commit to a date. For more detail on both options, see the corporate headshots and headshots pages.

Matching the brand

Consistent headshots across more than one Berkshire site

Companies with two Berkshire sites, say an office in Slough and a distribution centre in Bracknell, usually want the same look at both. We note the lighting distances, background and camera settings at the first site and repeat them at the second, so a new starter photographed months later still sits neatly beside the rest of the team on your website.

Retouching stays natural: stray hairs, passing blemishes and a little evening of skin tone, never reshaping. Files are supplied in sizes for LinkedIn, an intranet and print. For product and premises pictures on the same visit, see commercial photography in Berkshire, and for every other service in the county, the Berkshire photographer hub.

Planning

Planning around Berkshire

01

Book a room with a window

A meeting room of about four by four metres with a window gives space for a backdrop and lights, and natural fill for a softer look.

02

Send the list in advance

Names, departments and time slots let the day run to schedule, so nobody on a Slough or Bracknell site waits around for a turn.

03

Plain tops, no fine stripes

Solid colours photograph cleanly; fine stripes and small checks can shimmer on screens and distract from the face in a LinkedIn thumbnail.

04

Two sites, one look

Lighting and framing notes from your first site are reused at the second, so staff in different Berkshire towns still match on the website.

05

Studio for one or two people

Individuals in Slough, Windsor or Maidenhead can visit Northwood Hills, about 10 to 14 miles away, rather than book an on-site visit.

Good to know

Headshots in Berkshire: questions answered

Setting up takes around 30 minutes, and after that the day runs to the list you send, with each person in front of the camera only briefly. For one person, a sitting at the Northwood studio takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Larger teams can be split over two visits.

Yes. Kaushik brings portable lighting and a backdrop to offices, labs and warehouses on the estate, about 10 miles from the Northwood studio, and sets up in whichever room you provide. The mileage is part of the written quote you receive before booking.

Yes. You can book a sitting at the Northwood studio, or have Kaushik photograph you at your office anywhere in the county. Either way you will choose your favourite frames on the day, and receive files cropped for LinkedIn and for your own website.

Wear what you would wear to an important meeting, in plain colours that suit you. Bring a second top or jacket so there is a choice. Avoid fine stripes, large logos and anything that creases badly in the car.

Usually, yes. Send two or three of your existing headshots and Kaushik will match the background colour, crop and lighting direction as closely as possible, which helps when only a few new starters at a Reading or Bracknell office need photographing.

Headshot prices are given on request by phone or WhatsApp on 07956 505383, because they depend on the number of people, the site and whether more than one visit is needed. Your quote sets out the travel and the day's price together.

Yes. Shop and restaurant teams in The Lexicon, the regenerated Bracknell town centre that opened in September 2017, can be photographed before opening or in a quiet room behind the shop floor, with the same consistent set-up as an office day.

Every session is photographed by Kaushik Bathia himself, FBIPP and FMPA, holder of five European Kodak Gold Awards, who opened the Northwood studio in 2001.
